A big week for Sezer & Matamua to work on their defensive deficiencies.

Hopefully this exposure to the NRL for big Jordan will do him wonders to show him what he needs to work on & really lift in.

We finally had some luck go our way on Saturday with the opposition playing worse than what we did & some effort plays saved us.

Our best stroke of luck was not having A J Brimson playing to finish off the 9 breaks. He has carved us up over the years.

So I just watched the game again - Api K is a remarkable player. It's not about the tackles he misses it's the ones he makes and the effort in every play. He is an inspirational player in every shape of the word and I don't think he realised that himself until he went from a team of stars to a team camped at the bottom.You can find faults - we all know them and saw them - but there was also plenty to like about that performance. Samuela F could be anything.

Trouble is they take him off in reserve grade after 15 or 20 minutes they should keep him on for 30 minutes the games usually lost anyway.

You are on the money; Api definitely offers more than his missed tackles and he is an inspirational Captain. The point I was making is that many of our fellow members had Api and Sezer in their 3,2,1 selections. You need to assess players on both sides of the pill, not just the flashy side of it. Api missing ten tackles and Sezer making three very poor defensive decisions isn't up to standard. I'm sure if you asked both of them they would agree.

Both of them bought a lot to the side and had a big impact on the win. In the eyes of some their deeds on the ball may outway their performance off it. Despite the good part of their defensive efforts, in my mind, both were responsible for placing undue pressure on their mates. Matamua, Pole, Bula and Miller also fall into that boat.

Had the Titans not been worse with the pill in hand than we were at defending we would be enduring yet another loss.
