LIVE GAME Round 16 v Raiders

Live Game Discussion
My point is im completely oblivious as to what race somebody is .I just don't notice .My career had me OS for 34 out of 44 years working career .I lived in
UK ,France, Belgium, Turkey ,Egypt, India ,USA California, Florida and Connecticut, and last 17 years based in Jakarta travelling all over Asia
I decided long ,long time ago a persons race or culture is irrelevant as there's only one race I know of " the human race " .
Good for you. That doesn’t make it true that all cultures are the same.

I'm surprised by those stats. I don't really look at them much and I guess I'm over valuing effort and enthusiasm. I just think he's really refreshing in bringing that to the team. So often wingers of the past look stuck in mud or intimidated where he looks really sharp and pushes through contact well. The way he cuts at the line and his ability to get to the ground on his stomach is impressive.

You cite workrate of Skelton and Staines, but I think they're really high effort players as well. Staines just is under strength and has nowhere near the impact of Turuva, while Skelton has a much more incomplete game. But in terms of workrate, yeah they have that.

You also have used addo-carr's elite speed and lomax's workrate as examples of players who have attributes better than Turuva. And while I concede on both of those comparisons in the areas you mention, you're still talking about one of the fastest, most exciting wingers to play and the current Australian winger.
I used those examples as they are two of the obvious ones. But:
some wingers offer speed: JAC, AKP, Coates, Savage, Saab.
Some offer a kick target: Lomax, Coates, Tupou, Warbrick, Bostock.
Some offer tackle breaks and running metres: Lomax, To'o, Marzhew, Kiraz, Tamale.
I don't see anything special that Turuva offers. You cited work rate but the stats don't really support that. His work rate is solid and better than average but hardly anything special.
Having said all that, I don't by any means think he is a bad player at all, as I said a little above average. More than happy for him to be on a wing. I just don't agree with the hype he receives on here with the original comment I responded to being one of many that has said something along the lines of one of the best in the comp.

You need at least one winger with x-factor, no other NRL team continuallly selects 2 wingers with a good work rate and not much else, UNLESS you have at least a few dynamic players with x-factor in the centres, back row, halves and fullback.
Who are our x-factor players to make something happen when we are attacking our opponents line and struggling for ideas on how to score a try ?
Virtually nobody as Benji thinks a team of boring grafters will get the job done.
News flash, no team of grafters has ever won or gone close to winning a competition, you need at least a few players with x-factor to compliment the grafters.

It’s supposed to be Bula but he lacks that power to fully bust tackles unless he pulls out the perfect fend. T’oa can do it 1-on-1 and we’ll see it from Latu close to the line now he’s getting confidence in his body.

I think the closest player we have to this is Api. Every week after we lose at the presser, he has the look of a guy thinking “WTF am I doing at this club”. But he’s already re-signed once, and seems like he might agsin, so he does care about the place. Maybe if Luai turned up to a presser every now and then, you’d see his care factor too. We’re exposed to it every week with Api.
I think if you check back G you’ll find they’ve been alternating.

Based on leg pull could that fall under ruck infringement relating to play the ball speed and should never been allowed to challenge the hair pull?

Captain’s Challenge

A challenge may be initiated after the referee blows his whistle to stop play, rather than only after a decision resulting in a structured restart. Decisions which cannot be challenged will continue to include forward passes, roll balls and discretionary penalties including 10m offside, ruck infringements relating to play-the-ball speed, tackled into touch after held call and dissent.
Reminds me of the early days of the challenge, when u give away a penalty to artificially stop play in order to make an earlier challenge....this is why the rules came in, they should never have won that challenge.

A persons race and culture is very important you can not dismiss it it's part of them

If I am going out to dinner with my mate from Kathmandu we don't go to a Steakhouse

But I only judge people on Character

Don’t know about that. I’ve only seen one presser with Luai.
Ok mate, you got me thinking so I just went back to the start of the season and Luai has done 5 pressers this year and the rest by API. So it’s about a 2;1 ratio but Benji has been saying he’s been disappointed with the result but proud of the effort in just about every presser.

That gets a bit annoying after a while. I get the players love him, but I wonder how much that is due to there being no line between him being their coach and then being their mate. I haven’t heard him criticise them once after a loss.
