The think West Tigers supporters posting Rothfield's rubbish is truly disappointing, I'm not a Maguire fan (anymore) but this clown isn't in our corner, and doesn't help our club, anywhere. The only reason he still has a job, is that he makes the people he is with look smarter.

Surely its time for him to retire.

Despite recent assurances from chairman Lee Hagipantelis that Maguire’s job is safe, we’re hearing the Wests Tigers board is not fully united on this issue after the last-start 50-point shellacking from Melbourne Storm. Another big loss against Souths will leave directors under enormous pressure to take action

we have had a 30 point loss and a 42 point loss plenty of floggings this weekend too.
I think Madges job is safe even if we get smashed, shoukd it be ? Probably not but only alternative woukd be John Morris with Sheens help

Fear of finding a suitable replacement should not be a driver for retaining Maguire.

I would like to get rid of Madge think he is done well and truly and can't attract players as a coach. Not sure we have any good options though, in saying that I would make Sheens and Morris caretaker coaches or something for remainder of year

Depends if you want to continue with the mediocrity. The "Madge has a plan" mantra is looking a little bankrupt right now. The Board and supporters have been sold a crock.

Mediocrity at the club was not created by an individual and can't be resolved by an individual. It's about the systems in place and collaboration of board coaching staff and players and juniors/pathways. He walked into a club that has been a rabble for years let's not pretend he is responsible for the position we are in, or can he fix it alone.
He will not survive if the FG side does not get results we know that - but the success of this club can't be measured by the current FG squad because they simply are not good enough compared to the majority of teams they oppose including the one today.

Realistically we are an equal chance of being premiers as Souths or Parra. Souths are short a few forwards and Eels are dreaming if they think they can win with logs like Opacic ,Lane and Matterson . Moses is a gift to the better teams.

A lot can happen quickly. A team gets a roll on, injuries to key players. I remember a team in 2005 who started a run from way back about this time of the season. Although both Melbourne and Penrith are short priced favourites for the GF, both Parra and Souths are capable of a upset.

Got a feeling Souths might come out today really focused

I think the flogging Melbourne gave the Rorters this week puts our performance into some perspective.

Like everyone, I was truly gutted by the inept defence at the beginning and throughout the match but even though the rorters started out OK the end result was the same.

There are two teams really in this comp and they are light years ahead of any team coming 5th - 16th. Sacking Madge at this stage will do nothing but add to the instability, toxic mix, no-one wants to go there belief instilled by journos (and the club itself) over the last 12 years. Need to hold firm and create a platform for growth in the future (somehow).

Maguire's messages don't seem to be getting through but it's been a recruitment and retention issue at all levels that sees us where we are. We need to develop the good young players we have and find a star, win a few games and people will want to come to play with them.
