LIVE GAME Round 17 versus Knights

Live Game Discussion
Just watched that break again, he was actually getting away from every chaser including Dom Young, bar Ponga, he slowed down to fend ponga when he should have just pinned his ears back and motored for the corner...that's inexperience not a lack of speed.
The other option would have been dive for the line. Momentum would have taken him over the line even from 10m out due to the weather conditions
Other than the steal from AD, the rest of the team seemed brain dead yesterday.
Benji has talked about scoreboard pressure, and at 6 all I still can’t believe our leaders didn’t step up for the field goal.
Adam Reynolds would have kicked it with 15 mins to go

Gotta read the game and manage it

If you're not disappointed with that performance and result, im not sure what to tell you The Chad.
My comment isn't in relation to the result, but the reaction to players because of the result.

2 years ago Doueihi was the worst defender in the NRL and barely a 1st grade reserve based on opinions in here. Now he's our best player.

Twal was a plodder. Now he's the reason we are on a slide.

Terrell May was the second coming of Superman. Now he's an anchor holding the team back.

Makasini was Greg Inglis reborn. Now he's slower than Steve Edmed & probably a reserve grade quality player.

Luai was a rubbish buy until he isn't. Or until he is again.

Jock Madden was a terrible purchase & a sign the club was going backward, until he wasn't.

Benji flips from the best to the worst coach in the NRL within three posts.

And we point fingers at Bulldogs fans.

We played way too conservative..looked like a gameplan

Looked like we were just happy to go set for set and just force errors out of Newy

It actually worked but we were way too dumb to capitalise

Didn't Knights score from that play? So I think the bunker would have looked at it if so.
they did....and i was certain they would review it, however it looked like they confirmed it as a try very quickly. What i have noticed from our guys is that other than Turuva, they very rarely stay down to get a penalty or blow up at the refs when there is an infringement against them. I don't know if its a lack of footy smarts or as a young team Benji is trying to get them to focus on the next play and mentally move on. Was not too long ago we were getting players sent off almost every game and it was mainly because they would get frustrated and do something stupid. Terrell got whacked in the head with a shoulder and only made an issue of it when he lost the ball...otherwise he was playing on. Bula was tackled in the air, should have come down and spent the next 5 mins channeling Mitchell Moses by writhing on the ground clutching an ankle to draw attention to the infringement so the bunker and ref are actually forced to look at it. Luke Lualill was sent to the bin for 10 mins for a similar thing and he actually leaped to contest the ball, Ponga stayed on the ground and grabbed Bulas legs as he flew over him.

I mean, yes there is carry on, its a football forum. Maybe im wrong but I don't think its the same people changing opinions week to week, rather different opinions getting amplified depending on the performance.

People are going to have opinions on players especially after a performance like that. Some of them are stupid, some are not. If you're expecting a football forum as a whole to have one single, consistent homogenous view on things you are in for a shock.

Douehei was a bit of a turnstyle though wasn't he?

All good.

Just pointing out that it's a bit of a running joke that the Bulldogs forum can shift & sway it's support based on the direction of the wind...

But we are obviously rock solid.

That game was there to be won.

I've been pumping up Seyfarth for a long time because he has generally been more diamonds than rocks. I was wrong.

His mistakes yesterday were inexcusable. Back to Cup Big Red.

I don't really blame him for the bad play the ball. The ball stuck to his hands because of the spray they use but yeah it led to a try

All the above is supported by facts!!!
And sadly results

We’re too bloody nice and you know what they say…nice guys finish last.

Seems like people just love to criticise Luai for the sake of it... Defended brilliantly all game & was getting overcalled by AD all game. Was even visibly frustrated at times when he kept getting overcalled. He's easily the best 5/8 at the club & suggesting to move him to hooker or lock is madness lol.
Defended great..no question
But where was Luai in attack...?
Cant use the excuse he deferred total responsibility to Douhie.....heck,hes getting $1.2 mill /year, so were expecting a complete performance in attack and defence

AD is the 7 and if he calls for the ball he should get it, looked to me like he was calling for it way too often. He has been immense for us when he has played this yr but he does have a hero complex. Wants to win so bad that he thinks he is the only one that can do it.

Thats why we employ a "coach""...
its a huge stretch in every sense
