Round 2 team 2026

Team basically picks itself besides the bench. Need to carry an outside back on the bench just in case every single week in my opinion.

1 Bula
2 Turuva
3 Taylan May
4 To'a
5 Makasini
6 Luai
7 Doueihi
8 May
9 Korisau
10 Afoa
11 Sam Fainu
12 KPP
13 Twal

14 Madden
15 Sione Fainu
16 Pole
17 Hunt

18 Murray
19 Skelton (Luke L if Skelton is injured)
Can Madden play D.H when Api comes off?

Glad to see Bunty in the starting team

I think Twal is to important to Start

It effects the balance of the team and he should start on the bench and come on as a senior leader at the 25 minute mark and finish the game

If all players are available for selection except for Latu Fainu, I think it’s a clear cut 21 man squad, that will need to be trimmed to 19.

1. Bula
2.Turuva
3. To’a
4. Taylan May
5. Makasini
6. Luai
7. Doueihi
13. Teal
12. Pearce-Paul
11. Samuela Fainu
10. Afoa
9. Korisau
8. Terrell May

14. Hope or Madden
15. Sione Fainu
16. Pole
17. Hunt
18. Seyfarth
19. Skelton
20. Murray
21. Madden or Hope

** If KPP is unavailable for round 2 I would definately be starting Sione Fainu on the right edge which would mean Seyfarth would definately need to be in the 17 as I don’t think Sione would be ready to play a strong 80mins on an edge so early in the season.

Sione Seyfarth and Bunty have clocked up a lot of time with the 2nd string team
Waiting for that riddle to unfold at the season proper
If it’s hot when we are playing we should not play both of Royce and Bunty as they both gas out quickly, where Big Red handles the hot weather well.
The 6 man bench should be perfect for us if we use it well.
I do not understand the apprehension with Tristan Hope ?
I acknowledge his dummy half service could be a little bit better, but his defence has gone to a other level this season with a bit more bulk to assist him.
It’s at the stage where we should seriously be thinking about copying the Panthers approach to Api and start him off the bench to avoid the heat of the battle in the early stages.
Hope’s line speed and willingness would only help us in the early exchanges.

Yes that why I have been banging on about Bunty starting and Twal on the bench

When Twal comes on at the 20-25 minute mark he stays on for the rest of the game

He mite play 15 have half time and then finish the game just 1 interchange used

And if someone in the forwards get injured at the start of the game Twal comes on and should be able to finish the game just 1 interchange

Twal is a good player with elite fitness for a prop/13 I think the Tigers should use his elite fitness better

How does the 6 man bench work? Looks like the 1-17 is the same ..then a whole bunch of reserves
Four interchages can be made from the 6 man bench so you get to choose as the game progresses who makes up the interchange players. For exmple if you are carrying a utility back and things are going well he will probably stay on the pine and you do a four forward rotation to maintain intensity; however, if the 5/8th goes down in the thrid minute you throw him on and run with a three forward rotation. It simply provides flexibility and saves coaches from completely reshuffling because they decided not to carry a back on the bench.

I was looking at the R1 (Vegas) team list. They look the same sort of format as 2025.

I think the NRL website must not have got the memo earlier. They have fixed it now for the first game and adjusted the team list to include the 6 man bench.
