Trying to get my head around the bench - Hunt, Sione and Seyfarth are self explanatory and Hope is possibly an indicator of the plan to rotate Api out and also provide an option at 13 late in the game if some spark is required (would have preferred Murray personally).

Who is spelling Twal or is he now an 80 minute 13? Madden and Skelton are sensible back cover and I guess Skelton could fill an edge if we were desperate.

Sione will be lock when Twally comes off.

Terrell can also play there if he's on while Twal is off

I'd have been more comfortable with another forward, I don't think there's space for Madden, Hope and a winger. Murray was great in the trials. It's a shame he missed out.

Drinkwater predominantly attacks down his left side from memory so may be that played a role in Taylan shifting to our right as Taylan / Doeuihi & KPP more experienced to defend him. Perhaps.

Maybe Dearden will be the problem, looking for an opportunity to exploit our inexperienced left side.

Makasini is a lot bigger and stronger than Tom Chester.
TC plays above his weight and is no pushover, but it does look an obvious advantage in our favour.

Skelton has only played 23 games and is uncontracted for 2027, and missed the trials due to injury while Luke played excellent.

We will see what pans out on Saturday I guess. I don't like it personally - rotating May to spell Twal will not be giving May the rest he needs. I think the bench is short Charlie Murray at the expense of Skelton as we can easily move AD to centre and bring on Madden if an outside back goes down and Madden can slot into either of the halves positions of one of them goes down. Perhaps Skelton is replaced by Mav or Sukkar closer to game time? I would be a bit mor confident in that lineup than the current one.

well …how will he be injury free ? He has had no surgery and even rumours we have heard that the injury is chronic and not much can be done …. Like I mentioned, it seems its a very similar story to Olam ..

But then Toa is regularly picked so I doubt that theory holds true.
