I don't like Talau but Tupou wasn't unmarked the Dragons backrower would have had a clear shot at him. I don't think Tupou would have got there.
Having said that the pass was the option. I'd prefer Tupou's chances of beating the cover defence than Talau's chances of breaking through 3 from that far out.
