Not entirely, it's a reflection of the lack of depth.

Toa has been carrying injuries for several seasons, Taylan May is only just back to footy and we've decided to play Doueihi in the halves.

Out of desperation Benji calls up Pat Herbert and we do a deal. That's scraping the bottom of the barrel and unfortunately Herbert has been needed every week.

Turuva is not a good centre and we are desperately short on the wings if we move him (our first choice wingers were otherwise are Lauliili and Tavana). We brought back Junior Toops for wing desperation. Skelton for some reason not favoured.

So Centre is a really weak spot for us. Toa and May is not a great preferred pairing. You'd drop Makasini to reserves if you could afford to field players better than he is.

But the other problem is - you can't necessarily afford better centres when you are paying several hundred thousand for a big reputation junior wallaby.

So you end up having to play him - sink or swim. Would be better for the club if our team didn't keep putting young players in positions to be exposed by better clubs. Its happened to the young players all year, being worked over by better sides, not just Maka.

I disagree because he is far too inexperienced to play centre on a regular basis,he is only a kid that hopefully will eventually reach that level but it is not yet.

But 'clunky' is a word I'd use for the attack, no flow about it, no movement and easy to read.

Yeah Maka made an error in defence but there were heaps of errors, so those laying the blame on him is a bit rich.

More with Api and that tired, weak shoulder penalty, now thats an error.

It all comes down to setting standards and achieving those standards. Look at the Sharks every year you get the same. They are not the most skilful or full of super stars, but they are disciplined and do all the little things right. Plus they always compete and have a dig.

Don’t know what the answer is as every coach has failed but one thing for sure Benji is not working. Maybe we need a hard man like Brad Arthurs

We all know the year is done I’m placing little in current performances. That said adding KPP, Taylan May, Averillo to the side and changing the halves AD and Luai should make a difference.

We need to see Latu and Andrews in the halves for the rest of the season. We need to move on from AD, Twal, Luai and change the leadership group.

That has to go down as one of the worst losses, if only because of how bad the opposition were. Can’t ever remember seeing a team play so badly, so amateurish, so error-riddled and still be in the contest, let alone win.
Then again it’s dejavu, I thought the same thing after the Knights game.

We are just at such an extremely low playing level st the moment.

Our attack is so putrid, you couldn’t even call it attack.

All the forwards were off. May has completely lost his sting.
Backline pathetic. Halves playing a solo game.

I do feel for Makasini, he is miles off an acceptable standard, even further than the rest of our subpar team. But he really shouldn’t have been picked in the first place. That one’s on Benji.

Makasini...a rookie in a team that has no structure in attack and.more importantly no structure or systems in defense,.in the toughest defensive position on the field..
Hes on a hiding to nothing, thrown in the deep end.with.lead.boots on

We look so slow, and I just don’t understand why our forwards run so slow with the ball as they don’t even look like bending the line and nobody even tackles hard.
They do my head in,we were always taught run hard tackle hard,that should be simple enough surely.Right??

While that felt like one of the worst NRL games of all time and one of the most pathetic losses in WT's history it probably doesn't even make our top 50 list. WT's have been consistently dishing up excrement for the last 27 years and (apart from a brief anomaly in 2005 that should be investigated) today was completely normal. This is who we are.
