LIVE GAME Round 23 vs. Raiders

Live Game Discussion
The press conference video is embedded in the article for those who are keen.
Keen for what, validation, revenge . Mate every single person on here thinks we were badly treated but all you can do is delete your video, and get ready for the next game.
The touchy, as somebody said, must have had huge money on Canberra and couldn’t possibly have called it.
I have , at times, considered jumping the fence and putting a headlock on the officials and not let go until they were unconscious, then I wake up and move on.
I hear you brother ..,,loud and clear.

He still cops it off the back of that performance. It's pretty weird.
No Earl , I think that most of us are disappointed not in what is he capable of, but has for so long not delivered .
If he’d played like that for the majority of his career we would be devastated to see him go but now there are two things we are interested in;
1. Is he going to star at Manly and
2. Are his replacements going to be better

All I care about is the 2nd point. I can't see that happening next season and we should have kept him but longer term hopefully it works out in our favor.

So if we came 15th instead of 17th you'd be happy? It was a failure of a season regardless.
Again, you're drawing your own conclusions.

The obvious answer, again, is of course not.

But we should not be back to back wooden spooners - for all the wrong our club does. We have had very poor luck.

I will never defend the clubs failure over the past decade plus, but it's important to highlight that the players, at least most of them, are trying. Albeit with a huge handicapp (management, recruitment, media, player agents), made worse by some garbage luck.

should have kept Brooks for one more year at the price
we haven't he will go well with DCE and a fit turbo
As for us, I hope we go for youth and go with fainu and Sullivan give sezer a miss

It’s death by a thousand cuts watching the Tigers play. In the end it comes back to the same thing every week. A lack of enough aggression and intensity for 80 mins in both D and A from our forwards, a lack of talent, consistency and skills from most of our backs, then throw in a few dumb plays from dumb players. A lack of line speed in D and way too many one up unsupported runs in A. Back this up with a weekly rogering from the game’s officials, and because we just don’t have any truly elite players (apart from Api) to pull something out of nothing… we just can’t ever get out of the hole created during any given game. We simply can’t get past it and get a win.
On the positive side, the majority of our guys are trying hard and are putting in the effort. Our kick chase was generally better today. We look far better with Brooks and Api, the 6 or so weeks without them were extremely ordinary.

Getting the wooden spoon again isn't such a bad thing. Sometimes you need to hit rock bottom to experience growth. Sure maybe we could have won a few more games, but we suck. Hopefully the risk we've made with these young signings pay off we really didn't have another option. It hasn't been a complete failure though, some of these young guys like Bula and Pole are genuine first graders but if we lose our good juniors again I'm done. There is only so much misery you can take.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned him yet but a shout out to the 25 mins of Justin Matamua.

Some good hitups to advantage & played the linkman quite well actually instructing players around him. Something we have missed all season.

He played good enough that he'll be put back down to NSW Cup next week. Rolled up the field nicely with him.

Totally agree but it frees him up, so he is slightly different from that freakish character earlier in the year.
He’s not altering his playing style , he’s just more relaxed. Now please, no more talk about this , we can agree to disagree .
Yeah, all good. I think I understand what you are saying, like concerns about his future aren't weighing on his mind, one less off-field distraction that may have been affecting on-field performance.

Bingo, absolutely correct. What you were saying is true , I just felt that release of pressure was helping him to just focus on his footy.
Cheers mate, I’m glad we sorted that out because you write some good stuff. Keep it up!

This place will still harp on about how ‘shit’ our forward pack is. Get a grip our backs are rubbish & it’s why we can’t win games.
100% and I’ve said it every game this year.
Our pack are doing their job. Our backs miss tackles, drop balls and stuff up scoring opportunities every single week.
I’d sack the whole lot of them bar Bula and maybe Staines.
