Round 25 Team - what chance of an honourable loss, let alone a win?

I was at this game in 2025, Wests Tigers won! Sure, Roosters were missing some origin players, but not Tedesco or Marky Mark. Tigers were not full strength either. One of their best wins.

Slightly better than zero I suppose.

It's been a very long time since I've totally written off a match, i.e. Tigers have next to zero chance of winning and I'm just hopeful for something respectable. That was my normal for Balmain in the 90s.

Somehow there are higher expectations these days for being competitive every week, because despite how bad the Tigers run has been, the best sides IMO are not as far ahead as they used to be in the 80s and 90s. Some of those Broncos teams for example were near untouchable. The main difference is back in those days conditions often made it hard to rack up cricket scores, either the speed of the game, leather balls, 5m defences, fewer full-time professional peak athletes, sports technology etc.

These days the game is so fast and professional that teams can certainly destroy their opposition on given days, but you don't see them doing it week in and out. Like how we beat Cowboys by 60 and a few months later they put 74 on us.

Weird vibe this weekend, to hope for respect. The Roosters aren't even really that great a side, compared to Roosters teams of the past.
