Round 3 Discussion *SPOILERS*

I honestly dont think it will take too many weeks before newsfilth/nine start to complain about blowouts in games and they put pressure on the NRL to "adjust" refereeing so the games are closer citing making the game a better spectacle.
Being cynical and suspicious is my normal nature.

Could definately happen as I am a little concerned about how a team turns momentum once it starts going the other way, there is no way to slow the game down to try and regain control.

No one talking about Sutton. How refreshing is that?

On that point - I reckon he’d be sitting back in the sheds feeling like he truly reffed a game with authority. Hope the others follow.

Also - good luck to badger raising his flag. Deserves no less!

Hey mate, how do you think we will go under this system?

With the difference in completions, against lesser opposition that game could have been a cricket score. I'm expecting some ugly scores.

100%, as a team tires it is going to be really hard to regain momentum, as you tire some sides are going to start giving away more and more 6 again calls as they will struggle to clear the ruck. It is really going to compound in some games. I wouldn't be surprised to see a side run up 60 or 70 points in a game in the next few weeks, especially if a team comes in a little under done after the break.

I actually have a few concerns about how we will cope with this.

You get a side in form like the roosters versus us last year and they'll rake up 70 easy.

Yeah didn't take him long, I really can not stand him. I liked what Gordie said and just said he hopes the media ignores it.

I think it will suit Benji and Brooks. I’m worried in that whenever we try to play a fast game we drop the ball a lot. Unforced errors will kill a team. Grant - I have no idea ! If we can minimise errors we can go ok. Our edge runners could be lethal - garner and both Leiluas.

I really thought that Parra was really going to run away with it tonight but they took their foot off the gas a little.

What? You mean Seibold looked for someone else to blame? That’s never happened before!

Seriously- here’s the acid test. Peanuts like this bloke and other other coaches need to be put in their place. They can no longer be allowed to run the game.

I was saying to my wife about 10 mins in that I hope Benji is fit enough to keep up at his age because this is made for his style of game. Johnson will be very dangerous on Saturday.

Yep very dangerous. Interesting point re Benji. That might be true sadly

That's exactly what the media in Brisbane will run with tomorrow.

From what I saw last year, the footwork and passing was still there for him to be incredibly dangerous in this style of footy. Its how he copes with being that year older and the layoff for Covid 19. The improvement in his game last year game from getting fitter which gets harder to maintain at his age, especially once he needed to train by himself in isolation.

Since the game finished I have sat here and thought about how the new style of game will effect our team. My biggest concern I can see is it is now going to be even more difficult to swing the momentum in a match once the other team gets on top. This is an area we have historically been very poor in, we struggle to regain control once a team is on top and usually give up momentum too easily when we are dominating. I hope I am wrong and the Covid 19 break has helped us find that toughness we are going to need.

im worried about Tiges, we have gone with a big pack now and I believe you have to be a very mobile pack now with new rules, i hope the Leluia boys got fit during break as i am worried about them with this speed

Twal, Luciano, Garner can all play 80 mins. That gives our other forwards more minutes off the field which will help with fatigue - that’s why Madge picked a more mobile bench too I think. It will help us in attack big time if it keeps up like this

Haas and Hopate played 80 for the Donks..didn't help them...Matterson was the only Parra forward to play 80..

I very much doubt Leilua or even Garner can **effectively** play 80mins with the increased speed of the game...Twal possibly but there will be even more rotation ..I feel under these new rules...An 80min hooker is even more important than ever...both Turpin and Mahoney had spells..

Garner and Twal will handle 80 mins. The reason broncos got flogged had nothing to do with the new rule, it’s because that barely held onto the ball. An 80 minute hooker would be great, more rest for the big fellas.

Broncos looked terrible, they barely tested the eels. New rules worked well for now hopefully that favours us, interested to see how Melbourne take advantage of it.

They will be lucky to get the ball the way they wrestle through a game.

They've played a real boring game for years now, hopefully the new rules sorts them out.

They’ll figure out a way to bend it to their liking they always do. I’ve never really found them belong they have some really exciting players they just know how to control a game and this new rule very well may benefit them with that

They’ll figure out a way. They managed to wrestle without giving away many penalties before so I’m sure they’ll be able to do it with the ref 10 metres away

The game was already fast enough. This rule is going to make it even faster, and give teams who have momentum an extra leg up. There’s going to be a lot of blow outs. Brisbane didn’t really help themselves, dropping the ball over the line twice. Just made me sick watching that game, and it gave me a sinking feeling watching Parra.

we need to get Grant playing 80... if he is as good as everyone says we will do very well this year
if nofo and jennings defend well we might just win enough to get into 8. The new rukes shoukd suit Brooks and Benji too
