Tigers fans who couldn't understand why Hastings was let go in preference to Brooks, & I think there's a lot, deserve to be given an explanation as to who was responsible and why! Isn't there any accountability? A long time Tigers supporter having suffered from ridiculous decisions affecting the club adversely for far too long...and no-one is ever accountable! No wonder most top shelf players steer clear. And nothing changes!!!

If you’re a long suffering fan you already know the answer - there is no accountability.

Why not? I'm done with suffering! Sack the non performers...Hagi Pascoe Sheens Brooks. We'll have a better chance of attracting quality with a new broom. 4 straight losses & it ain't looking like it's gonna get any better. I want big change!!!

I think they have made it very clear - and said it on many interviews. Regardless of if they are right, telling porkies or totally ignorant the story is;

For Brooks -Newcastle wanted tigers to kick in to much alluding to the fact that they wanted 650,000 paid over multiple years. Tigers would rather pay 1 million playing for the tigers for one year rather than paying Newcastle 325,000 for the next two years and have him playing for the knights.

(The numbers I made up but theyit was said on NrL 360 that they wanted to much over multiple years)

Sheens wanted Hastings at 13, he was offered more money by Newcastle in his preferred position and with his contract finishing this year didn’t want to stand in his way to do so.

(Hastings has refuted this)

So although most dont believe it, to say tigers haven’t addressed it isn’t true at all. Multiple times these questions were asked, answered debated and written about.

If you take the answers at face value (which I don’t) the accountability is perfectly fine.

How many times have we complained about paying players to play against us. How many times have players had opportunities elsewhere and kicked stones / become a media nightmare until a release was given anyway.

You might no like/believe/ think the scenario is different with these players but we have been told the reasoning behind the decisions.

Tim Sheens Jan 27:
As for Brooks, Sheens said he and assistant Benji Marshall had enjoyed working with him, but stopped short of declaring they would be the pair to finally unlock his full potential.

“Ask me that question in a month’s time or during the season,” Sheens said.

You start with 'they'. Who is 'they'? Sheens? Who else? 'They' made a bad decision with Brooks so instead of paying the price $ for that bad decision (which many clubs do), & rolling heads, it's compounded by getting rid of the better player to save $, so we can have a 0-4 start to the season and languish on the bottom of the ladder. & it don't look like it's gonna get any better soon! Most would agree I think, that Hastings should have been given no.7 & Brooks 13 (or whatever) & told to fight for 7.
Look at how the dogs have turned it around. They got the coach we desperately wanted. We know why he declined the Tigers!
Who was responsible for the 'big 4' fiasco??? Are 'they' still there?
Who in Tigertown gives a rats about supporters?

I remember you thought no way Hastings would end up at Newcastle as he bought a house in the shire ....
True, but it still was a mistake to keep Brooks over Hastings, let alone not even bother trying to sign Hynes. Which is what you thought was the right move in not trying for Hynes.
