LIVE GAME Round 4 v Warriors

Live Game Discussion
1 - Like most, I am disappointed with the loss but generally impressed with the improved resilience.
2 - Thought the referee had too much influence in the outcome (my pet hate).
3 - Terrell May is an absolute machine. Quality for 80 minutes from a front row forward
4 - Galvin does lots of good (and some regrettable) stuff in a game.

With Douehi maybe out we might need to name Feledy or Lobb. Think Staines is injured as he’s missing. Dire straights stuff that. An edge combo of Feledy and Faatape is night mate fuel.

Looks like as Sam Fainu playing busted and Luai maybe injured too. Going to be a struggle
Luke Luuli straight into 1sts with Skelton back also

NRL.com has him @ 202m and 48 tackles. Pole 180m and 34 tackles.
Really shouldn’t lose the ruck when 2 guys are pumping out numbers like that.
In context of winning the ruck those numbers aren't actually great.
Now im not knocking May when I say this because his efforts to put together 80 minutes of pretty good quality is phenomenal and he was a lost ball away from winning the game. But;

202 metres and 48 tackles from 80 minutes of one front row spot is probably about par, perhaps slightly under. It looks amazing because one bloke did it, instead of the role being performed by a starter making 140ish metres and an interchange player making 60ish.

Similar for Pole but will add he still makes simple and often very telling misses in defence. I will credit him for working hard in defence and getting to good spots, just still not a very good tackler.

lol we lost because we let them score some very easy tries that should have been stopped. 3 of their tries were weak as piss defence. Stop1 of them and we win.
Ref made zero difference.
Fair assessment, but the ref always makes a difference and did again.
We should have won that game, but we could’ve lost by plenty in days gone.
We just played ourselves back into a game again this season, but that lose shows we still have plenty to work on, both on the field and roster. Next weeks team will be interesting as I think injuries and potential suspensions will affect the team and test our depth.

Another hard part for me was sitting in the stands, surrounded by 40 million Kiwis going "wooo! wooo!" at the end
40 mill?
Good crowd then?
Thankfully we have Richo, Fruit Pascals was happy selling a few hats, Richo gets 40 million to turn up.
The train station at Lumeah must have been packed. 😎

Faataape is on a development contract, he should be developing his game in NSW cup so that he can become a regular first grade player.

What we find instead is that he regularly plays first grade and provides as much, if not more more attacking flair than a number of our other regular first grade players.

He also provides more value as a player that is on a development contract than 2 or 3 other players that we have on top 30 contracts that provide absolutely nothing and never play first grade.

For Christ sake give the guy a break, he's not even a winger yet he he slotted in and caught a number of bombs tonight in wet windy conditions that many seasoned first grade wingers have had trouble dealing with.
Other than not falling on that ball at the end WHAT did he do wrong , didn’t miss any tackles caught all bombs that came his way , if u don’t like the kid just say so , but don’t put crap on him for a pure game

Who gives a crap how the Warriors played? Got home on the back of poor decisions.
Don’t even deserve to be in the NRL
lol need a tissue?
They won fair and square after our captain took one of their players out with a blatant attack to the head.

Agreed,, he tries hard and went ok until that last play when he kicked it out..i think a few of us just got caught up in the emotion of it all and went looking for someone to blame it on.. he is not a bad back up player and is improving ,, more a centre than a winger also..

We are still building, always had a knot in my guts about this game. Our outside back options are slim and in my opinion it is why we lost. Faataapi played ok but the play towards the end was dumb and lacks footy iq. Same with Toa on the other side. We need quality centres.

Seyfarth also highlights another weakness and he also lacks iq. That last penalty to CNK wasn’t the issue, that was dud call by the ref, isn’t the ones he gives away at the other end of the park.

Bula could of done better in defence but they get through 12 other players to end up one on one.

We were in the game, always going to be a tuff one, I think the boys put in and with a full squad maybe we scrape home.
