Don't get the hate for To'a. Has made his tackles and in attack cam be dangerous. If people expect him to give every centre a bath each time he plays, then I think that's unrealistic.
No we don't expect that. Why are you judging him off three games? Last year apart from one game he was average. Defensively he was out of position alot and he used his arms instead of shoulder when he tackled often..

He is better this year. I just judge a player over 12 months. Not 3 games. Obviously all players are playing better which is great.

Annoys me when a player plays one great game and that deletes a dozen average ones.

I’m not confident about this game, having said that I haven’t been confident about a game in years. I hope the boys rip in and get the win.
Eh win or lose just play with the same effort. Still way to many missed tackles but the effort is there. The forwards are having a crack and the spine has already improved.

Love the fact they base their attack off the dummy halves. Let's Luai and Galvin play like 5/8's. Just like the storm do off Grant.

Still think our 2nd rowers need more in attack. Seyfarth has been good at defence though. Just need more metres. Can't be up to the props and wingers only.

He barely played last year because of injuries and I think his preseaon was interrupted aswell so it's hardly suprising he didn't play well.
The years before then the main criticism one could have for toa is that while safe he was also pretty quiet apart from a couple of notable games

Have to stifle the Warriors forward momentum. RTS & DWZ both being out leaves the Warriors kick return/early tackle runs a bit weaker- but still have to nullify the guys through the middle.

If the Tigers can do that, I don't think the Warriors have the class in the spine to counter it.

Going to miss the game as qantas seem unable to sort out wifi on planes over the pacific, as opposed to every American carrier. Hoping to login after and see it was my viewing that has cursed us for going 3 in a row. Hoping Skelton is actually fit, would be a huge in if he's 100%

Newcastle at Newcastle hard game with a huge crowd behind them, they always seem to lift. I wouldn't be too confident on that one.
Basing this on losing 10-8 when our attack without Api and Bula was clunky
Crowd behind Dolphins at Redcliffe but still won
What's more in previous years if we were down 18-6 after 30 mins we would have fallen away and lost by 20-30
Not this year
So much depends on keeping our best 17 on the park however

Very surprised to see Skelton named. It was a non-contact injury while changing direction. If he was bad enough to come off, I suspect there was just a scary moment that happened.

He's been immense for us.

I watched the team train for a few minutes a short while ago.

I couldnt see Skelton anywhere. Sol Fataape was on the left wing outside Douehi.

Naden was doing some sprint work, looked to be running pretty fast, so hopefully he isnt too far away.

I forgot to look out for Staines. He may have been there, but I didnt notice him. Luke L was training on the second team's left wing.

Yeh surprised not to see Luke L in the extended first grade squad

Thanks for the update @joebob good to know what the contingency is if Skelton doesn't get up. With his hammy, I wouldn't imagine he would train until captain's run on Sat to give himself every chance.

Stopped past training today briefly, Luke Lualiliii ran with 1sts on the left, skelly resting...Was there for literally 5 minutes they were doing end zone attack (grade v 1st), bags laid on 2 try assists on our right edge in quick succession 😂😂🤝
