Benji's atrocious use of the bench last night is one of the main reasons we lost. Sure the Broncos just have a shit tonne more talent than us but somehow Tony bloody Sukkar played 60 mins last night! And TDS played 20, despite a spine player going down. It made much more sense to move Api to halfback to help guide a struggling Galvin, than to short Doueihi to 5/8, push bird to centre and have Sukkar play out the game.
The fact Sukkar even came on street 20 mins is cause for massive concern. There was no need. Hunt not seen at end of first half was a massive mistake.
Why did we have a different goal kicker for our first 3 shots? Surely we knew who was first choice kicker? This level of disorganisation is unacceptable. Missing those 3 goals was extremely costly. If Doueihi was fit enough to take one he takes them all.
We still pass the ball to Twal far too much, especially in the opposition 20. It's a lead balloon to the attack every time he touches it, he's our least dangerous forward yet he touches it more than any other, even when we don't need a settler.
And Benji needs to get Galvin under control. He keeps trying to be everywhere all the time but then he ends up running in circles and contributing little. He's like a headless chook out there when he's running the ball. He doesn't have the pace Power or skill to be a threat when running, and he needs to be told to be much more selective when he runs. Leave the running to Luai, latu and api.
Do you expect the boys to see twal in position for a run and turn the other way? The man is a workhorse, he needs to keep grinding how he is and opportunities will come.Benji's atrocious use of the bench last night is one of the main reasons we lost. Galvin is an eyes up player, you cannot tame a player like that by forcing him into a set play system, the player will lose himself and you’ll end up with an illias or a Flanagan. He also held his own in defence against haas. May not have been his best game for us but can’t scrutinise the man for playing his game.
As far as sukkar goes, the man held his own comfortably. Definitely thought he was one of our best. Happy to see that you had to eat all your words about him in KOE considering he had a great game.
Benji is trying to bleed the young bloods in. This is how teams create depth, seen many teams do it before us, and there will be many teams doing it after us. He’s doing a great job so far.
There is a reason you’re watching from your couch and not in any position to make a decision on the tigers or the maggies.
