LIVE GAME Round 6 v Knights

Live Game Discussion
Mate we keep hearing he is a gun Center.
He hasn’t shown even a glimpse of this being true.
He looks like he has never played the position before.
The try was on then and he butchered it.
Will be a gun winger when we get a gun centre along side of him.

Then he can work on the finer points of playing centre over the next season or 2, has all the attributes to get there if he keeps a level head.

The day in, day out of NRL level football should have brought him back to earth by now.

Id rather Api than Mitch Moses
Moses must have crapped himself after the general criticism and please explain he received from the NRL after last week. (still can't believe he didn't get a lengthy suspension)

Never seen him so meek and mild after the absolute flogging the Parra-sites copped from the Titans, wonder how long it will be before he is back to his obnoxious best. 🤣

Benji is just so impressive.
On one hand I love how unrelenting he is. On the other, celebrate the wins! Show some emotion and crack a smile Benj!
Sure, the job isn’t done, but look at what you have achieved already:
-We are equal top.
-You have already taken this team to equal wins from ‘22 and ‘23, and it’s only round 6!
-First time we have won three in a row in 8 seasons.
- For the first time in ages we have some depth and have had excellent cover for injured stars.
- Twal!!!
I feel Benji is taking a leaf out of Wayne Bennets book re showing minimal emotion.
I'm sure behind the scenes he enjoys the win with his players but he certainly looks locked in during game play.
Showing huge maturity in his coaching.

Having a look at the extended highlights, lots to be excited about attackwise. Forwards ballplaying to backs, players constantly moving, Api controlling things around the ruck, genuine running threats everywhere.

When its good it will be great, when it goes wrong itll look pretty poor.

Sidenote: Gould praising the hell out of Bula.

This is a completed tackle… 🤔

Interesting thing about this is that he did lose contact before this and thats when Mak started sliding his arm forward, yes he did then make contact with him again, however the arm slide was already underway. What I find infuriating is they look at replays for an age when they are trying to take a try away from us, yet one like this they seemed to turn around fairly quickly. The try to Dom Young was bounced and the number of forward passes and blatant knock ons the refs ignored from the knights in the last 10 mins were breathtaking.

Gould praising Bula.....maybe that means they are not in the race as the new rules state that he needs to keep his mouth shut about players they are courting. Knowing Gould he does not care.

Exactly.
Orchestrated by Madden.
If Doueihi plays 7 next week he will have to feed Luai and won't have that space/time to hit top speed and make those decisive runs from the 7 position.
Delema for Benji---and assuming Tino is back in the centres.
My solution -------from an outside observation, as compared with Benji who also has to contend with egos, pre-season promises and the comradery/culture of the team----would be; --

Madden 7
Luai 6
Doueihi - right centre
May - left centre
Makasini - left wing
Latu 14

Tuesday's team announcement will be very interesting indeed.
That would be my preferred team list but I suspect that Benji might do it a bit different and if he does I think he's wrong, but what would I know.

If by some chance Benji goes that way I hope Jock transitions okay to playing predominantly on the right and that this works okay for his kicking game and that Adam Doueihi doesn't keep running his winger out of space and he has been known to do in the past.

Everyone saw the behind camera angle of the Dom Young try bounce and thought 'no try', especially as it went up no try. Not believable the integrity of the decision.

We aren’t talking about just one game.he will be judged on how the whole year goes.
It’s been a decent start.
Yes only 6 games in but our wins vs
Cowboys
Warriors ( in NZ )
Knights
Are all against top 8 teams and were big wins
Prior years we would not do this against top teams
Note our big edge forwards can go for 80 mins
This is a sign of an extremely fit squad
Also like Benjis judgement on picking certain newcomers
Like Tavana and now picking Patrick Herbert from obscurity

These are signs TIGERS 26
ARE THE REAL DEAL !!

at the end of the season impressively dont think newcastle or cowboys get close to top 8 and i think warriors may not either.
we have not beaten much yet

I don't know JT, the Warriors, knights and Cows are very dangerous attacking teams. Parra were also up for that game last weekend and threw everything they had at us. What I took out of it was Parra came out this weekend and showed serious signs of a hangover from last week getting absolutely SMASHED BY THE TITANS! and we came out fresh as a daisy and smashed the 3rd placed Knights...I know we all have PTSD but this Tigers team are the real deal and I am starting to believe they will make the 8.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm kinda glad the Knights scored a couple at the end and we clocked off a bit. We walk away from the game with things to work on and remain humble.

Perfect result going into next week, not getting too ahead of ourselves.
I’m not, I was pissed off! I felt that it was going to happen too. For and against is everything this competition. That last 12 points they scored bumped our against stat 12 points up over the Warriors total.

I would’ve been ok with 42-16, but not 42-22. It made it look like a more even match than it really was.
