Shoupp > Katoni
Geez Staggs is a good player when he is on, unfortunately he is inconsistent and is quite capable of having a shocker.

Imagine if we signed him, there is no way in the world we would know where the switch was to turn him on.

Fair few around like that.....

TPJ last night,
Terrible in the first half.
Then was great in the second half, despite being on the losing team.

Katoni was contained.
Burton is struggling because he's expected to do everything.
Kyle was too quiet and not involved but he hasn't much faith shown in him this year.

Baz is an awful coach.

It’ll come.
Gould already has his replacement signed I’d suspect.
Get the feeling that Gus is there looking over the shoulder of Barrett making him feel very nervous and uncomfortable about his every move which reminds me of the pressure that Grant Mayer constantly put on Mick Potter, except I rated Potter as a coach and think he got screwed over right royally.

Starting to feel a bit sorry for poor old Trent but I think I'll get over it.

Good player Burton and seems to be a really cool character, but you just know he is under a lot of pressure at the Dogs. You see a lot of mistakes creep into his game which I think is due to the amount of pressure he is under to produce results.

He should go a bit better next year in my view when the Dogs bring in another couple of good quality players.
He's a good ball runner and when he runs it he creates opportunities for others around him, but they seem to be trying to make him into an organising half and it's like it's not even entering his head to run. Worst case I suppose if he doesn't work in the halves they can just move him to the centres where he showed himself to be really good for the Panthers last year.

look at last week twal and tamou and Tue test of the pack were outstanding against a good parramatta pack.
it made Hastings and Brooks look fantastic

I agree but I don't think you can underestimate the way Hastings goes to the line and ball plays to put his forwards into some space. It makes a difference.

See how deep cronulla are, sometimes on shorter raids they'll get deeper and greater angle.
I'm listening too ABC Granstand, I couldn't listen to Ennis spruke crap. Pause foxtel for 2min roughly to catch up the delay.
It’s the old shot gun play though instead of just being the fullback hiding behind the backrower they have multiple backs and forwards lined up behind one another. They start much further in field and as a unit move out to the sideline taking whichever options the defence presents.
I have to appreciate the good coaching gone in here. Instead of trying to recreate the Flying V that Penrith can only do off the back of Yeo, Cronulla without a ball playing lock have created their own varitation of the sweeping block play, but instead of one to one fullback behind a backrower they have a play that involves most of the team.
Another team with their own structure and style are Melbourne, they do it off scrum plays where they have a few of their playmakers move from right to left or left to right once the defence is set, a lot like an NFL line up. Once in action they have moved from an even defensive side over to the opposite create a plus 1 or 2 number mis match.

Great read mate, yep and those quick big boppers swing around like a gate nicely.
They vary the distance from 1st and 2nd receiver dependant on the defence.
In the second half did you notice the opposition stand wider with a sweeper which practically shut thim down.
When that happens the fullback should be gap running.
These plays have been going on in rep rugby for over 40 years, just different terminology.

Made a massive difference with Hastings talking to them and putting them where he wanted by playing into the line. He made Simpkin's job easier too. Shows what we've missed with Brooks as halfback not directing traffic

Brooks has always been a 6 really, and if given the chance will be the clear number one 6 at the club, he has good pacing and pace and speed. He is a great foil for Hastings direction and strength at 7

That's been the problem really, the clubs tried to turn him into a game managing half when anyone with eyes can see he's a decent running half. From what it looks like he is a shy introverted kid and he needs a dominant voice next to him to play off the back of

The Bulldogs supporters must be losing their sh@!
I only went on The Kennel website once. Mate it was low class. I can only imagine what is being said on there at the moment. I think Barrett might be one of those people who is good as an assistant coach, but not as the head coach.
