they are still a well coached team which defended extremely well and were way more physical than us … also had the two best players on the park … Reynolds and Staggs …

Benji has been humble, He has CONSTANTLY said there's a long way to go & has told his players CONSTANTLY to forget all the Media hype that has put them on a pedestal.

Luai is a bit rusty & in hindsight Benji should have taken Luai's offer to come back with the Magpies in Cup (I'd love to see him in a Magpies jersey being an old Magpie myself) but could you really do that to your $1m + marquee player?

Guys chill, the boys WILL bounce back from that below par performance against the reigning Premiers, but we may have to do it without Bula unless his shoulder just copped a burner & nothing more serious.

The two games they have lost had halves combo AD and Luai and they had enough ball to win both those games ..

I know Benji doesnt want to move Doueihi but Maddens form has to force his hand.
You really have to play Luai he would get crusified if he didnt, but the guy is a headless chook really its a tough spot to be in. We look so good without Luai the Souths game was the same, he needs to be producing more. I dont think we should be worried about those clauses.

This game was a reality check. While we should finish close to the 8, enthusiasm will only get us so far. We lack the talent and polish to be a title contender.

Another take away is that we need a game manager. Jock Madden may be Best n Less Adam Reynolds but he's a damn sight better than Doueihi or Luai.

Agree Ted. We don't need a marquee 7. Just a steady game manager who takes the right option more often than not. Jock's shown he will play direct & create space. I'm becoming concerned whether Luai can take advantage of that.

Three reasons we lost tonight:

1: Makasini having a shocker, he needs to go back to Cup for a few weeks.

2: Jock not getting enough game time, he's been out game breaker the last few weeks.

3: The boys simply were not hungry enough, out enthused by the Broncs.

* Yes we copped some bad, really bad decisions but that is not an excuse.*

We need Tino on the wing, he's a gun Jock needs to be on the field for at least 40 mins.

While I'm disappointed, we only lost by a field goal so our FA isn't really effected & we SHOULD still be sitting 3rd at least thanks to our F/A.

I'm not going to blame Benji, we lost by 1 to the Premiers & would have won without the errors from poor Maka, he was overwhelmed & is really lacking confidence. He didn't have that good a game last week but tonight was a shocker!! He needs to go back to Cup for 3 or 4 weeks to regain some form.

You have listed reasons we lost but by far the biggest reason was our red zone attack. If we could score in our red zone by passing we wouldn’t need Tavana on the wing to save us with his acrobatics.

I think a Turbo in origin like gameplan for him might go alright , get him running at retreating defences. The issue with that is if he’s down the left creating the extra man , and it’s on down the right , he obviously won’t be there . I wonder if a gameplan where he’s allowed to roam but when he does Bula or a the opposing edge moves across to the right . It could work if everyone is switched on and not fatigued .

The refereeing of the ruck was as bad as I have ever seen. He was onto them early, but as soon as Adam Reynolds spoke to him he put the whistle away and Brisbane took advantage of a weak ref.

I wanna know why we NEVER see our captains influencing the ref's like other teams. We just sit back and get shafted. The zero policing of the ruck was a huge factor in tonight's game.
