It’s not about getting rid of him for mine, but he has to do better.
I’ve always said we are a better team with Bula in it. Well equally, we are a worse team with Luai in it.
Madden needs to take the reins and feed Luai and Doueihi when appropriate. For instance Doueihi attacking the line in the 20m is far more effective than Jarome trying to ballplay. I would not let Luai touch it till tackle 5 in that zone.

Maka @ 18 yrs needs to recoup in reggies for a spell.
If Benji had headaches last week picking the side it will be even worse next week.

I think it's easy decisions, Madden and Doueihi in the halves and pretty much the same side as last week against Newcastle. People are being too harsh on Makasini, the kid doesn't need to be dropped he just needs a game on the wing outside of Taylan May with Madden and Doueihi as our halves pairing. We had no cohesion or chemistry tonight and it put pressure on the kid. He went from playing in a side that could have gone toe to toe with Penrith while still having some improvement to do, to playing in a side that lost to a half strength Brisbane side that hasn't been doing good.

Exactly this 👆 I for the life of me cannot fathom why people come onto a forum for their own team and write posts like that.. seriously how miserable and negative must you be about life to think 🤔 yeah this contributes to the dialogue and adds to the discussion about the game and our teams performance tonight and in the future.. seriously what the hell is the point of it?

Have you followed the conversation properly?

I responded to @Tom Shines comment about where Latu fits and whether he is a package deal with Sam.

I responded saying IF I was Latu I’d leave for more money and opportunity when his contract was up. As a fan I am happy for him to stay.

But apparently I have a loser mentality and am miserable and negative. 🤷‍♂️
 
I’m not too deflated after that loss. The team played brilliant. Our line speed in defence was huge.

Broncos are simply a class act, even without some stars. Their backs were formidable and together with Reynolds they taught us a lesson tonight in how to contain and convert. Not too dissimilar to what Penrith just did to Dolphins.

It was always going to be a tight game, so the closing stages were where it was going to be won. Just needed no error football and we’d have scoring opportunities.

But we didn’t get them. And sadly that is because of Makasini.

I rarely think it’s fair to blame one player, but sometimes individual errors at critical moments are the difference, which I believe they were tonight.
I just hope the team rally around the kid and don’t let this break his confidence.

Luai is not working. He just doesn’t compliment anything we do here. He needs Nathan. He needs Isaah, He needs Dylan and Liam.

One of the most overrated players in the game. He was protected by the great team the Panthers had.

I agree, I rarely think it's fair to blame one player, which is why I'm going to blame Jarome Luai for the 80 minutes that transpired.

The first half was yuck to read , and the carry on right now … mam and Reynolds executed at key points in the game . So did our guys . We had a winger drop the ball , then get in his head , drop it again , lose focus in defence which leads to a line break and give away a crazy penalty . That was the difference . Our 18yo winger couldn’t shrug off his mistake . We dominated field position, and often the final pass went to ground . I thought we looked real dangerous when AD went to centre and madden came on . But I also thought the same when Latu came on . Shit happens . We play like that we kill the raiders .

All true but we need to remember we are flattered by the scoreline a wee bit. They scored 2 deadset tries only for them to be called forward. Really we should have lost by more.

It was a terrible call. Penalty against Api was just as bad, if not worse. Their young guy took a few steps away from the ruck. Then add Makasini being ruled to have played at the ball on their challenge but when the same thing happens to us it’s just a guy making a tackle. Didn’t help that we blew our challenge on a stupid thing that would got us another tackle 5 even if it was upheld.

Thought the no try was fair enough but in saying that I have doubts Reynolds stops Bula.
