Not to have a whinge but how does such a serious offence get turned a complete blind eye to with all the technology?

Judging by the grading, is that not a sin bin?
This is really frustrating and just highlights the poor refereeing yesterday. The six again calls and infringement penalties were a total guessing game. He had no standard and was blowing whistle on a whim. Sometimes obviously penalties were let go only for minor questionable calls being given. It was a really poor display.

All that said, it felt like we were going to do everything we could to lose yesterday. We lost yesterday because of our terrible line speed and weak tackling. You can't win games like that.

I agree but unfortunately laulilii had a stinker yesterday. I credit Moses, he put him under pressure the whole match and this produced a few errors.

It was interesting watching Moses' relentless play, prodding all the time, every possession.

I feel like the eels had a real vulnerability on the edges in their non tackling 2nd rowers but our halves never really targeted those areas until late in the 2nd half.

Thats partly because of weak metre gains in early tackles, but was also just not taking control of the game by our halves. Against the Broncos and now the eels we've seen the difference top quality halves can make in the game. My criticism of luai isn't his quality, it's his involvement. He can't just be a left sided player in our team, he's got to be everywhere and he's capable of this.

It's your team, Luai!
The old adage you have to earn the right to play football hurt us yesterday. Too many times we shifted the ball early and got run into touch or dropped the ball.

Luai needs to stand up and take control of the team, not just direct them around but get his hands on the ball. Despite two try assists last night, Moses has played one game and had more try assists for the whole season than him so far. There were sets we were on their line and he dosnt even touch the ball.

With no Galvin there he needs to step up.

He’s shown enough over 18 months to be picked.

The hard part is the meetings with him and the senior playing group early this week.
He has gone back and made notes on his coach to use it against him.

Then he had sent a letter to the club that he is being bullied.

He should be taken away from his "unsafe work environment" and his "lack of development" and sit at home for 18 months.

That is exactly how to play this. If we get a decent player in return, then fine, but if we let Galvin go now without a player in return because of all this agitating, aren't we left in the same position? One player down in the squad?

There were so many specific shortcomings with most players today but the main thing that disappointed me was the way we turned up as a group. We looked slow and lethargic in both A and D. After all the hype I expected our leaders to really stand up today and our team to play with intent and aggression. But we looked like 2024 Tigers all game and were generally out muscled and out enthused. This is the first time i have seen this in 2025 and it worries me big time.
All the 1%ers were off the pace and we didn’t even have the same intensity amongst our players when we did something good- where were all the high 5s and rev ups and celebrations?? They looked disinterested and disconnected today.
How does that happen? As a club, we never seem to be able to rise to any occasion, even when we have every reason to!! There is just zero belief amongst our group.
I reckon that a lot of that is on Moses and Galvin and their crap this last week. Even to Luai being quiet - he's just been publically accused of workplace bullying. How's hw supposed to be a strong leader, when, when he did (imo) show strong leadership, he gets a workplace bullying call? I hate I Moses. His ability to destabilise our club is phenomenal.

i don't think u can just bring Galvin back after what hes doing i think as soon as he did that theres now no chance
I agree. Maybe if he'd had a stand-up game in KOE, he could be considered. But he was average there, and bringing him back into first grade just disrupts the whole thing.

I think a bit of a comeback (almost) masks a lot of the crap today....it was easily our worst effort...some dumb dumb 6 agains given away...defense wasnt too bad early, but line speed was non existant...our play ther balls drive me nuts you can make a cuppa and bake a bloody cake
Latu is a talent but hes real green, and seems fragile....needs to string a lot of 80 mins together to dispel this monkey off his back
Were slow, not as slow as the last few years but still slow enough to be a factor..

Two more years?
Weve been here quite a few times in the last 15 years, things can change so much in a week, let alone two years and bang were back at square one again having built nothing...players these days just walk, the coach wont last without results...we dont have the luck or nous required to put a plan in for several years and see it come to fruition, something always f***s it up
Got no resilience, can't bounce back when things go against us. Seems it's been that way forever, with only a few exceptions.

I wouldn't say he is clutch, I think that is the wrong word. He has a long history of failing in crucial moments both with Tigers and playing finals with the Eels.

What he is good at is confidence, i.e. competes all match, and his kicking game is very good. He certainly takes the Eels up a notch and they almost can't win without him, so reliant they are.
All true, but we made it easy for him. Didn't lay a glove on him all game. He could've played in the proverbial dinner suit with a drink in one hand.

I couldn’t believe what I was watching.
No game plan to target Mitchell Moses who has been instrumental for putting the knife into our club yet again, then even when he was mouthing off and laughing at us we sit back and do nothing about it,
Tommy Raidonikas would have been ashamed, actions speak louder than words.
Luai just cost himself 90k losing his SOO spot for choosing to sit back and watch Mitch Moses dominate us.

Refereeing issues
Liam Kennedy was very strict on ruck infringements early on and gave numerous repeat sets to Parra YET late in game when we were catching them the ref started ignoring worse such ruck interference
In the first tackle of the match Tuilagis tackle on May warrants a 3 match ban by the judiciary but Liam Kennedy did not even think it was worth a penalty
To start the rot in 2nd Half Tuilagi made a mockery of the foul play rules
There was nothing at all illegal in the tackle but because he stayed down for about 3 minutes he earns a penalty and makes fools out of the officials by scoring a try running at high speed 60 secs later .
All in all I think Kennedy had a poor game and almost lost control at one point
Imo the worst referee this year .He balanced some stats late but not really when it mattered

That said we lost because of poor attacking organisation
Also a medium kicking game far below what Moses delivered
Wild passes playing catch up footy backfired leading to a score that flattered Parra a little it was 26-22 with a few mins to go and that score would have been a fairer representation of the game
When I shook Latu's hand before the game I was very careful to shake the good hand . Expect him back 2 weeks

I’m ok with Richo’s statement, it was a passionate response and a clear intention to rip the bandaid off early in the year.

But we didn’t move on. The players jumped on the socials, with good intentions but it played into the hands of the grub. Then he just went to work on operation exit now.

Without knowing the extent of disharmony I would have probably advised Benji to pick LG. Agree with Matty Johns on that, winning is everything.
99% of the time, you release a statement like that when it is clear that the player is being released from your club.
It was a premature statement there is no denying that.
As a fan are you any worse or better off knowing that Galvin isn’t sticking around for the long haul. This is in season, the clubs focus should be about winning the premiership this year not in 27 when Galvin leaves the club.
I expected better from Richo despite how but hurt felt from the management’s rejection.
