Bula has no pressure on him he has 3 players (tupou/laurie and staines) who can easily just take his spot if hes not up to it than we can move him to the wing

Staines will be fb this week there’s no way he’d throw bula in at fb he’s been out for 2/3 weeks through injury and by all reports he’s form wasn’t that good before injury then again sheens is getting old and possibly stupid

Joel,I have faith in the kid,he is talented but lacks NRL experience...What do you think DCE,Turbo and co are going to do when they know a raw NRL kid is going to be at the back copping bomb after bomb and have the kick chasers screaming down on him ?...I just want him to be slowly introduced to the big arena,as many have said the ressies are no where near the level of FG with big contract players all looking to make a name for themselves and earning their paycheck.,..did you not see the Manly v Storm game last weekend,it was relentless even for the seasoned pros,what do you think Bula is going to do other than dirty his undies...?

am i missing something, i thought you had to be in the 30 man squad to have a game..i thought after round 10 Bula would be available. So has he taken the nbr 30 s ot in the squad. If so why didnt the club wait 3 more weeks so he would be made available and not take u that s ot in the 30 man squad

What has Staines done wrong?

I like the side. I think we can pretty much write this season off so if we can get Bula experience and firing by the end of the season then it puts us in good stead next year and we have 2 spine pieces sorted. That will allow them to focus on the other 2 spine roles (6&7) and how we plan on filling them. We have the nucleus of a good side so have faith the ship will turn around (although that’s hard to do when the ship is sinking at the same time)

Staines should be fullback and if we need to bring this kid in it should be from the wing spot , I dont get Jake out maybe Laurie will replace Brooks or Wakeman in the halves , And Blore I feel has played well don’t get his axing either

Latest a debutante. They will terrorise him.
Sheens must be the only coach in the NRL that doesn't have to worry about wins.- and look where we are.

Trying to understand some selections:

Jake Simpkins - Has only gotten very limited game time. Api is basically playing a full game, so in effect they see it as wasted bench spot.
Sean Blore - Has been slow to start the season. Is ok defensively but may be lacking offensively.
Tommy Talau - May be more of an attacking weapon on an edge? (Expect he and Kapeoa may swap)
Charlie Staines - Looked good in attack but is reported not to have a strong voice at FB. Can consider himself unlucky.
Jahream Bula - Tim Sheens sees him as Teddy 2,0. Will make mistakes but i suspect this will be a window to the future.
Brandon Wakeham - who else?
Daine Laurie - There for some spark if we need him? I think if Wakeham cannot create anything we will see Daine in early

Simpkins is an out and out hooker. We are lacking a genuine utility on the bench who can fill a number of roles. Will Smith type. We had Nu Brown who could do this last year and it’s an important bench spot. I think we should have persisted with Blore. I think it’s time for us to move on from Twal. He is a plodder

I laughed at those lauding the 2nd coming of the "Mastercoach"
He's been pulling this crap forever - Don't waste a moment of your day trying to understand it....

He's lost none of his arrogance, If anything - He's maybe got a bit worse... I'd expect a little bit of humility from a bloke that has done absolutely nothing of significance in rugby league since
2009 when he signed Gareth Ellis.

Although timing, coming off a month out injured, still raw and learning the spot….says a lot about Daine’s future more than Jahream's being ready, imo.

I thought Blore has been found out a few times the past weeks. Bad (rushed) passes and being gassed in defence. I think he can still make it, but he's missed a lot of football over a few seasons - he's being exposed.
