TEAM LIST Round 8 vs. Sea Eagles

Team List
I think you’re right to be suspicious of the messages from the club, they appear to be not on the same page at times, with Benji saying he’s talking to a player and Sheens saying the opposite.
What we can be sure of is, we see only a glimpse of the stuff ups played out in the msm.

Yeh, they are two different people. I guess sheens just needs to be clear on his role.

I think if they didn't have this whole interim thing he'd be doing things differently.

I guess there's not much point going fully sheens way when marshall takes over in 1 and half seasons.

Really hasn't help this season at all.

If all goes well and some of the young guns get bigger fitter stronger by 2025 it could help.

I would like an explanation as to why 3 years. Engine room is complete. Go pick up a decent half, FB and a couple of backs. Sheens is just giving himself an excuse for poor performance over his contract period and Benji's first year (because a debut coach couldn't possibly take a side to the top 8).
We got Bulla hopefully to carve up at FB so a good half would change our team overnight. Throw in a good centre and we’re top 8 for sure.
Nothing changes till Brooks is upgraded.

How so? He was given the boot by a CEO who was and still is a dud. Please tell me how we have had such a golden run since he left, how many finals and premierships have we won since he left?

Really? That's the angle you're going to go with?

Tigers missed finals in

2006
2007
2008
2009
2012

If I wanted to be facetious I'd add 2003 and 2004 to that list, but let's assume that the side should have made finals post winning the entire thing.

So in his entirety of his time here he's made finals in 3/10 seasons. And that's very much looking like 4/11 at the end of 2023,

He's not the coaching messiah, and each of those seasons was plagued with idiotic selections and poor attacking structures. (See Daniel Fitzhenry) (Who i absolutely love btw)

So no, he's not a coaching genius who was unfairly gotten rid of. This forum was baying for blood by the end and rightly so. 3/11 when half the teams make the eight is unacceptable.

He wasn't a much loved coach who was hard done by a dud CEO.

He was a losing coach, with no clear plans and getting outcoached each week. It was the right decision, and the decision to go back to him was one of absolute desperation by an organisation that has no idea what its doing.

So yes, revisionist nonsense.

His record far exceeds anyone that has ever coached this side, no argument. You have overlooked the pinnacle of the premiership which if not for Sheensy this club would never have won in its history. As I previously outlined he was larger dealing with juniors, many who went on to be Origin, Test players and a mixture of journey men. To achieve 3 finals appearences in ten years and winning a premiership for this club is a miracle.
Again my point of how has the club gone since 2012 is extremely poignant. His job currently was to establish, identify and guide juniors and set Benji up, anyone with half a clue knows we won't be contending for the next few years.
So you think the CEO at the time was all good? Agree to disagree though.

Makes me wonder about Sheens sometimes I don't think he remembers who played what position and when
I'm convinced by the end of the year at one of his press conferences he will be staring up at the sky asking the journos who just 💩 my pants.
