LIVE GAME Round 9 vs Dragons

Live Game Discussion
This game gave me heart palpitations but I’m glad we got the two points.

I thought Luai played well and we looked better when he took control of the team. I’d like to Marshall continue to give him more control and play him as an on the ball half.

Galvin was poor.

May had another great game but I noticed he gasses at points, and creates gaps in the middle when he does. Marshall needs to use the interchange better.

I think a big problem is the team’s inability to maintain possession at crucial times and build pressure. We also should have set up for a field goal to ice that game.

We gave the Dragons too many opportunities to win that game and need to improve our game management over the next third of the season.

Has anyone considered maybe Galvin has realised he has made a big mistake and is struggling under the influence of Moses? hmmm
It's crazy IMO. Offerred a million a year at his age, in a side that's on the rise, and his salary next year would've been upgraded from 350K to whatever it was gonna be, probably 800-900K. Parra must have (illegally) offered him Dylan Brown money because I see no other draw there.

Okay maybe Mitchell Moses would be good to play with? But I doubt it. He is a ball dominant half, and if he hates playing second fiddle to Luai (which he definitely isn't), then he will hate it even more to barely touch the ball in a Moses-led team.

There is something wrong with this whole situation.

The question I’d be asking is if Mitch Moses is so great and going to develop him into the next superstar, why has Dylan Brown not developed at all?

It could well be that Api steadies the ship when we’re on the back foot. Leadership and team management on the field are parts of our game that have been lacking in the last few seasons. Benji might feel that swapping out Api for TDS at those vulnerable times is not best for the team.
Absolutely. We are quite a young team which can get forgotten.

Luai needs to play like he did in the first half.

Best performance so far.

It's not his job to improve Galvin anymore.
Spot on. I was really keen to watch Jarome play live to see his work off the ball and as many have previously said, his value is largely all the organising off the ball in both attack and defence. I agree with other posters that AD is playing so much better due to Jaromes influence

I just don't think Galvin is motivated by money. The people around him are though. Galvin doesn't have kids, a family or a mortgage to support. The people around him do though.

Reading some of the comments here I find them to be over critical
Thru 9 rounds we are 8th out of 17 teams
With an ounce of luck we could have been 6 and 2 instead of 5 and 4
2 games lost by 2 points
One without Korisau and Bula vs Knights
The other with a BS pen against us to break the 24 -24 deadlock
This year we are 6th in Offence and 9th in Defence

That said we allow too many long range breaks
Naden poor guy is a "crock " and simply looks busted
Seyfarth 2 bad dropped balls but is a good right edge backrower
Twal is needed for his tackling but his crash plays are ineffective as he actually runs totally upright and braces for impact
Staines was exceptional and is good cover while Skelton out
We really need Starford Toa back ASAP
Think Benji could get better use out of TDS
Think Latu needs to be on the Bench ASAP probably at the expense of Bird

I must admit. I'm starting to worry a little. If someone can help me. I'm not used to winning so much after the years. It's a different place and I feel not in place. I feel like I'm in a strange place. Like an old friend I haven't seen in epochs. Please feel free to share any advice. But this winning more than losing thing has me a little unsettled. Im not used to it.

Do you think in the future I will be able to watch Wests Tigers on TV without ever having to change the channel when things aren't going our way? To feel like a Melbourne supporter? Relaxing and confident.
