I felt his effort off the ball was telling tonight. A number of times he would usually try to contribute in covering up defensive issues from others that tonight he didn't try to do. He looked miserable and nearly in tears in the sheds after the game. I think we have issues with him over the next few weeks. It may just all be getting ti him and as a kid I get that. I'm not attacking him by any means.

I dunno...i think we were much better than them in the first half...with the help of superior possesion....i predicted the game would swing if possesion evened up...we see it so often in many games
2nd half another story

Stats were pretty even from equal possession through to equal errors. However their 12 linebreaks to our 2 and 42 tackle breaks to our 17 showed that they had more opportunity.
Bula’s try was a 12 point turnaround, and Doueihi’s try was arsey opportunism.
Their forwards really muscled up and belted ours as well.
I thought they were better and was relieved to see them squandering chances over and over whilst we scored everytime we had the chance to. I even think Bula’s second try should have been awarded.

Fit to play and fit to last 80 minutes in First grade are 2 different things as we’ve seen with Latu.

Says we cover pretty well....and the Dragons are arguably the worst finishers in the NRL

we were shit tonight ! Especially in defence . We beat them because of luck , winning a few key moments , and simply having more players in our team who were better than thier counterpart .
Whilst it’s amazing to win those games , where we can be horrendous and still pull out a win , we simply need to be better . That wasn’t good enough tonight . And I’m really glad our coach thinks the same thing . Because that’s how you make leaps as a footy team . It’s not just losses you learn off.

I agree with this. I called for Bird to replace him 20 minutes in. I can’t recall Naden actually making a tackle?

Last week would have taken a bit out of them. But 13 days isn’t to unusual.

Our deficiencies are clear. Centres and edge back row. I haven’t looked at the stats but Holmes, Suli, Sua overmatch our edges badly. Toa, Skelton would make a difference but we need some athleticism wide. Naden and Bird have no part playing long minutes.

If we are getting Taylan May, KPP or Fifita would solve most of our issues. It’s a squad depth and roster construction issue.

Benji always straight up in the post match interviews. He clearly was unhappy with the performance. It’s a good sign I think, not only him but the players that spoke
He is starting to lose patience with the media and has no time for stupid questions. If he sticks at coaching for years to come he’ll end up doing pressers like his mate Wayne.

That game was only close because we allowed it to be, really lazy defence. Just happy with the fight, and love winning these games after many years of not.

Has Sua signed with us? I'd hold back the announcement if so. That sort of thing only EVER happens to us, so nice to get one like that for a change.
