Thanks Die Hard.Forget resurrecting 2005. Keep Playing middle third of the field and work on 5th and 6th tackle options and we win a good share of remaining games.
Know that exact feeling.Gee's... I just watched the replay and I was still nervous that we were going to blow the lead!
I had to keep repeating "we won" in my head to calm myself down.
Great to celebrate a win and see the attitude amongst the boys.If you watch the game again our last play options were pretty diabolical 50% of the time
We were lucky to have two try saving tackles where they dropped the ball
Plus we out enthused them and they had a shocker
Those things don’t always happen in a game
Anyone thinking brooks is now the messiah is in for a very long disappointing season of one up and 5 downs
He was average for 50% of the game
How bloody good was that win !!!! Jahream Bula wow we've finally found a fullback that try saver was unreal & he's very calm under the high ball. Api & Klemmer both had a massive game, Api in particular wow what a player, we seriously need to get the right players around this guy so we don't waste his prime... he can lead us to big things. Credit to Luke Brooks as well, i've given him a lot of stick & rightfully so but he really stepped up this game & aside from that dropped ball against Manly he's really improved the past 3 games. We don't need Brooks to kick two 40/20s every game we just need some direction around the field & a solid kicking game which he had against Penrith, if he can continue to play like that then we'll be ok.
For the life of me I can't see how two students of the game awarded Luke 3 points and Api only polled 1.Dally M results from Round 9
- Panthers v Wests Tigers: 6 - Luke Brooks, 2 - Stefano Utoikamanu, 2 - David Klemmer, 1 - Fonua Pole, 1 - Apisai Koroisau
I am a Brooks truther but I think that Api was our best. For the life of me I can't see how two students of the game awarded Luke 3 points and Api only polled 1.
Brooks had a good game for sure; however, but between the two 40/20s and the grubber for Wakeham were some average periods in attack. He has been steadily improving over the last few weeks but being awarded MoM honours really shocked me. I was shocked watching the game and the after show on Kayo the credit he received.
We still had sets when no-one knew what was going on and the ball just went sideways for the sake of it and we still failed to get a kick away on the sixth on a couple of occasions. This was below A grade standard when I was running about - not sure how two 40/20s overshadows these issues that should have been as obvious as the nose on a face to any reasonable footballing mind.
The game that I watched was won by our forwards supported by a quality performance by Brooks and solid defence from our backs when Penrith tried to shift the ball. Overall a good team effort; but, built on the back of our forward pack. Api, Klemmer and Pole were the standouts in the pack for me with Brooks picking up a an honourable mention for his work in attack and some solid defence.
In my book Klemmer - 3, Api - 2 and Brooks 1.
1 win after 2 months will cover anything for a couple of days.If you watch the game again our last play options were pretty diabolical 50% of the time

I was worried it cost us the game though, when Klemmers tape stuck to the ball and caused the error in the play the ball towards the end.Anyone notice that the players wore heavy strapping tape around their wrists that provided a more secure grip on the ball in the slippery conditions on Saturday night. This was Sheens' secret tactic. This was a ploy the veteran boss learned while he was coaching in England, and the move paid dividends. An excellent completion rate of 90 per cent.
The extra tape did catch Klemmer out late in the game when he went to play the ball and the tape on his wrist stuck to the ball resulting in a lost ball at the play the ball. He subsequently ripped off the tape on that wrist.Anyone notice that the players wore heavy strapping tape around their wrists that provided a more secure grip on the ball in the slippery conditions on Saturday night.
