Rowe and Anasta.

Rowe isn't gutless,he is just not up to NRL standard, and Anasta is just way past it,both have to go.

Who does potter pick instead of Anasta??? Are you kidding??? Matt Utai would do better.

Yeah of course he would :roll (I know your kidding )

So if Austin is still injured pick a 6 that doesn't disrupt an already heavily disrupted backline ??

If I was Potter I wouldn't risk long term for possible short term gain with Moses

If you make Moses's debut against the Roosters you are risking his future imo

Anastas not going anywhere guys. Get used to having him there for a few rounds yet. We need troops back from injury before potter will make any decent changes to an already disrupted lineup.

He gave up chasing Don.

That is the end of him as far as I am concerned.

At least have a go

I was disgusted with that. Sure it was next to no hope, but that reminded me of Moltzen. It was pathetic for a young bloke to just give up like that.

I was willing to go with Potter on the basis of his like for like changes. However I had not seen much of Rowe. Now I can see what people were talking about, not up to it, not sure he will be in the future either.

I was gong to start a thread titled the exact same thing. Neither of these 2 can be persisted with.

Rowe is **gutless** and has zero talent
Anasta is simply uncoordinated

gutless? are you kidding me? he was running front on and tackling front on to people who are double his size. he showed more balls than moltzen ever did at fullback. he lacked skill, positioning, size and defense but you couldn't be more wrong by calling him gutless.

that being said, if simona, nofo and austin escape injuries/suspensions- then he shouldnt be in the 17.

I 100% maintain that he is gutless. Giving up chasing Don, not attempting the high ball and half-hearted kick returns are textbook pea-heartedness.

Rowe clearly isnt ready for first grade and Potter needs to seriously think persisting with him could have averse affects for his development
I think he has no option but to start shuffling a few players but with simona looking at a holiday, there really only Richards left…and that leaves our backline a mess

Might be a lifeline for Koro & Lulia

yay

It was a push with two hands, the refs over reacted.

Shoulder and push or just push, doesn't really matter Gong. All Bodene had to do was wrap his arms in a half arsed attempt and they don't penalise. Instead they are camped on our line. Blair showed just how hard you can still hit a kicker in the second half.

Or hope there is more to the Inu rumblings.

Not that it wasn't a difficult one to defend, it was, but Brooks chased hard and Rowe just fannied about like a kid in mini league. He managed to both not pressure Carter and not chase Don.

Very unimpressed, he was found severely wanting and arguably at fault for all 3 Titans tries. Out you go, Kurtis Rowe. I say no! Etc etc, submit your rhymes here.

What about this Sleiman bloke who is having a run in reggies for us? I haven't seen him play before, but he had big wraps on him at the dogs a little while ago. What's everyone's opinion on him?

I agree Ink. Rowe isn't adding any value to the team at the moment. He'll probably be there against the Roosters as Potter won't want to place the club under salary cap pressure if it can be avoided, but some secondary options need to be considered because our attack is revolving around Brooks and to a lesser extent Austin at the moment, and Anasta and Rowe simply aren't coming up with anything to trouble the defence.

I would pick Sleiman, What do we have to loose , Sadly @ the moment Rowe doesnt seem to be up to it.

Use the second tier now and pick Sleiman. With so many injured players returning in a short number of weeks Now is the time to use the second tier.

Very harsh for a 20yo, 3 game vet sabre

Harsh but justified.
If you get picked to play in the NRL the least you can do is repay your coaches faith by putting in 100% effort.

he did not "give up" on chasing don.. he was going for the guy who charged it down but brooks covered him and rowe was too slow to react on the inside ball. if you watch the replay again, even when off balance, he still managed to turn around and chase don.

not attempting the high ball? he attempted every high ball- they barely kicked to him.. they mainly kicked to richards in the 1st half and noffa in the second.

half hearted kick returns? he ran it back with venom. however, he did stop just before hitting the line as any 20 yo fullback would. even slater, boyd etc. do it. if he runs straight into them- he would get pushed back 50 metres ffs.

you can doubt his ability but i know upon seeing moltzen of previous years what lack of heart means. this guy is trying hard- be critical of his positioning, his defense (which was bloody terrible) and support play.

I agree with this - cannot fault Rowe's bomb defusal or kick returns. He's a lightweight, he's not going to punch holes in the defensive line. But his positive attributes lend as much to being a winger as a FB.

The other FB requirements as previously listed - positional play, 1-1 tackling, ability to find holes, speed off the mark, support - all below average.

Tim Moltzen is a pea-heart when it comes to taking hitups, but the kid is dangerous with the ball in his hands when fit, knows how to throw a pass, can expose a staggered line. Defence is pretty solid.

Perhaps if Moltz and Rowe could be morphed together they'd make a half-decent player.
