Rugby League Trivia

I thought Yoss got the answer, I just clarified it.

Ill ask though. Easy one.

Which Country side beat all comers in the 20's, including The NSWRL premiers, BRL premiers, NSW and the touring GB lions.

I was going to say newcastle but I think thats wrong

Nope, a QLD country club, still in existence.

Wasn't even a rep side.

Some all time greats in the side. I ll post a story about them once someone has the answer, will be a great read for those who haven't heard about it

Brothers or Jets, which one is older?

Ipswich played in the old comp between the 4 regions called the Bulimba Cup

Brothers were one of the Brisbane Rugby League clubs They originally played under the name of Brother Old Boys but were better known as Past Brothers from about 1930

The Ipswich Jets didn't join until 1984 , but played in the State League from 1982

It is Toowoomba, Duncan Thompson captained coached them in 24-25 they went undefeated.
They beat every one and in the Centenary celebration they were voted the sevond best side in history (behind saints 56-66)

There are some amazing stories in Rugby league history

What is the biggest two week combined point loss of any NSWRL side in history

(Hint it is monstrous)

Im guessing it is likely against the Doggies in 35, and be more than 150….

155 I'll guess (and will then check the net cause i want to know )

Right year , right club ,just missed with the total Goose

Couldn't have happened to a nicer club in my opinion

Is that the Magpies you are referring to - my club for 50 years?

Basically bar a few additions and a few omissions the old Qld State League is basically the current Qld Cup

But the BRL /QRL let sides that couldn't stand of their own two feet die , Brothers ,Valleys ,Wests :bawling went by the wayside

Actually their is a new version of the BRL starting , don't know too much about it though Do you know anything about it Watto ??

Here's a tough question that might take some research

Who was the Wests Tigers 100th win against in the NRL (including semi and GF's ) ??

Well considering we only made the finals once in our first ten seasons:

We averaged roughly 10-11th spot, which is roughly about ten wins a season, plus 05 we finished with 14 wins.

I'd say it happened in 2008 or 2009?

They won in 38 right? And 42 but nothing until 1980 I think. The most points in one game for one player was in the Roosters game. Did Mal beat that?

Mal beats lots of things…..mainly himself
