Appears that the Tigers must be considered by the Broncos as a feeder club. Unbelievable, if true!!

to me, its becoming more and more so that the tigers are merely a feeder club of juniors and unwanted players to the wealthy nrl teams anyway. broncos, sharks, seaeagles, etc.
maybe it suits the nrl to keep propping up the tigers so as to use their junior talent for the benefit of the "big name" clubs.
the cap is a farce, the rich get richer (talent wise) the rest get the picture.

When it comes to juniors the Tigers need give an ultimatum to the NRL.
Either do something to reward clubs for producing their own juniors (e.g salary cap dispensation) or we'll stop producing them. Not just us but clubs like Parramatta and Penrith also. That'll decrease the talent level of the NRL pretty quick.

Mcconachie yes, but I'm talking in a general sense.
We've done a good thing by the NRL by bringing juniors through the system. Guys like Farah, Tedesco, Lawrence, Woods, etc. If every club just went out and bought established players like Easts do then there's a good chance none of those guys would be playing NRL.

I reckon that we should get to sign and resign whoever we want and the NRL should match us for 1/2 of the pay for each and every player we have. We should also have double the salary cap of every other team.

Too many read too much into Ipswich GF win. Outside of the Hooker and Anderson, the rest of thier squad was ok, with Griffin probably being 3rd best…. It was the tactics which beat everyone.

I feel Griffin will play NRL, but I'm not sure how much of an impact he will make. Time will tell?!

Ah the good old compassionate reasons release. The Broncos are past masters at this.

Use the compassionate reason when it suits like when signing Ben Barba so he could be closer to his family but when his services were no longer required there was ever so little compassion involved in the Broncos decision to release him?? Compassionate grounds on the whole (always a genuine exception) are a convenient excuse to get a release or not re-sign.

Yep exactly. The Barba situation being the most glaringly cynical example. Just a cheap ploy to generate early releases from contracts.

Not sure if you watched the WCC, but I was very impressed with Jarrad Wallace and how more professional he is after 1 off-season. Good Line Speed; Heaps of Work; Tough & Effective Defence; Eats Meters.

I'd take him for a clean swap and put him straight in!

Sounds like a strange career move. His chance of playing first grade at the tigers would be much greater than getting a start with the Broncos. Probably a lot more to that situation.

He might genuinely have been struggling with the distance from home, or he might see better opportunities for development (if not game time) with the Broncos. They'll lose Parker, Thaiday, Gillett and possibly McGuire around origin time.

Good luck to him, he seems like a bit of a character.

Big adjustment curve for a bloke who grew up in the sticks having to put up with ridiculous traffic and housing prices in Sydney. If the Broncos came knocking, I'd probably go there too.
