Rumour, Comings and Goings 2009 / 2010 season...

Heighno is the one that I am concerned about because he is on a decent contract and will be playing every week. He does nothing in attack now and submits very quickly in a tackle. He was my favourite player but sadly I would only class him as a bench player at the most just now. Very one dimension and very easy for the opposition to control. Maybe a wake up call would make a difference because we all know he can play much better.

Heighno is a whole hearted player who gives everything, every game .You are right though, he is very one dimensional, especially when you compare him to what Ellis gives the side.

Sorry to say I agree Heingington reach his peak in 05 06 and since then has been in decline he has nothing to offer anymore head down bum up is something we do not need

I have never seen a guy get pasted so much on return from a long term injury. People have short memories. When the rest of the pack wasn't performing Heighno was. When everyone pulls there weight, and Heighno is fit he will once again show his worth and all this talk will evaporate. That's my tip anyway…

Will be interested to see Heighno used as an impact player once fitnes and confidence return for the unit.

Look at Galloway ad how far his fitness has dropped being away. Now factor in the workrate that Heighno had pre injury and think about how much match fitness he has lost.

I hope his program is building to a clash in a few weeks

I am not knocking Heighno. He exemplifies courage and guts but he used to break tackles and hit open spaces before and now that is gone from his game. I guess because he was my favourite player I just expected him to keep advancing to another level, which never happened. I hope that he will get back to where he was before and show us all once again what he is capable of.

From Telegraph

WESTS Tigers have emerged as the shock new favourites to sign former Wallaby sensation Lote Tuqiri.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Tuqiri and Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens held further talks on Thursday after opening discussions earlier in the week. The move indicates Tuqiri is now ready to make a return to the NRL.

Sources close to the Wests Tigers claim Tuqiri is keen on signing with the club although he has also attracted strong interest from French rugby union clubs. Tuqiri was sacked by rugby union last month - losing a $2million contact - and has commenced legal proceedings against the ARU for unfair dismissal.

The case is set to return to court next month.

A former Brisbane, Queensland and Kangaroos winger, Tuqiri could not expect an NRL deal worth any more than $200,000 a season. But he has told friends he wants to play in the NRL again.

"I know Tim has spoken to Lote on the phone earlier this week,'' Wests Tigers chief executive Stephen Humphreys told The Daily Telegraph. "They were looking to hook up. We were looking to start (discussions) this week but it may take a little while. We have to find out whether Lote is interested in playing in the NRL.

"If there is interest from both sides, maybe we can sit down and sort something out that both sides would be comfortable with.''

Tuqiri plays club rugby with Wests Harbour, who share the same training ground as the Tigers, Concord Oval. "I have said before we would definitely be interested if there was interest from both parties,'' Humphreys said.

"I think it is important for Lote to do what he wants to do because he has been through a bit lately. He has taken time out to spend with his family.''

Galea, Payne and Trimarchi will not be at the club next year. This week's RLW says that the Tigers are releasing all 3.

Thanks for the update Willow. I think the Galea move is stupid. Back row I'm imagining for next year is Ellis, Hino and Fulton but where's the hard-hitting depth off the bench…

J.Schirnack, Dywer, Akeripa will provide great impact off the bench.

Fitzy's back

How pathetic we get rid of most of the deadwood at the club and then sign one of the worst logs ever.

Now we have someone to blame, other than Sheens, for every loss.
