Rumour, Comings and Goings 2009 / 2010 season...

I said at the start of the year that Galea is the perfect combination in the backrow with Ellis & Heighinton…
Galea needs to be signed up!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes we have Dwyer coming through the ranks who plays the same side in the backrow... but there is no guarentee that he'll be up to 1st grade standard straight away...

Sign Galea to a 1 or 2 year deal now!!!!!!!!!

I rekon the club made a deal to Fulton for taking the loan-type deal to go in the first place, that they'd bring him back… but really I think Galea offers more...

I think huddersfield bought Fulton on a 1 year loan from the tigers and fulton will be coming back to us next year. For memory we couldn't keep fulton under our salary cap for this year so huddersfield got him on a loan.

based on what though.. what happens next year when he has a few bad games.. people will call for him to be let go… i remember this convo last year with alot of members about Heighno... sign him now sign him for life.. blah blah blah..... and now he has a few bad rounds and injury he is now ineffective and threads appear to have him replaced or dropped...

Galea is a good player but we have enough depth..

Im a fan of Galea and have wanted him in the side the last 3 years, but i agree that we have the depth to cover him. Its all a balancing act and when u have so much talent in the backrow, maybe its best to use the money elsewhere, hurts me to say it, cos i think if Danny was given a better go when he came to the club, he'd be staying and someone else would be going.

I don't.

I think you'd be in the minority there… the only thing that Fulton ever offered was solid defence... Galea has that and actually dominates in tackles...

Rubbish on all points.

I made one point… re: his defence...

To be fair i didn't class your opinion as rubbish. I don't mind Fulton, he's a average player IMO... but do you believe he would cut it in most NRL squads?

He's apart of the same deadwood we are trying clean out. He would take up far to much salary cap than he is worth, if he was on 120k a season... i would love to have here for depth (but something tells me he will be on a lot more than that).

For 3 years he's played mediocre football at the Tigers... yes he cleans up a lot in defence but what else has he done? He rarely offered an offload, tackle bust or put a player through.... Galea on the other-hand imposes himself on opposition sides and hits harder than any other bloke in the squad. Not only this, but he is starting to find his feet in the side as he gets more time on the field and his game concerning his attack looks on the up...

I'm with col on this one….Rubbish...he offered a lot more than defence...He can hit a hole and his ballplaying ability was underutilised...he aslo put his body on the line close to the opposition tryline....Why can't there be room for both....I think that he was the only one that could have been shopped of at the begining of the year shows he wasn't part of the deadwood....Adios Payne and Halatau should provide enough for Liam and Danny surely...

Dont know what role Fulton will play next season when he comes back Danny Galea is playing great footy and as far as offloading the ball is concerned CHRIS heightington has not got a clue any more head down bum up and runs into the defence he reached his peak in 05 06 and is now on the way down i am sad to say

His ball playing ability could possibly have been under-utilized, so i do concede that and I often called from him to put on the 6 jersey…. but as i said.... I don't mind him... but just think the money he'd command isn't worth it...

I still don't think he offers much to the squad... but given he helped the club out in going to England it is hard to turn your back on the bloke... ugly situation imo.

Can anyone shed some light on Gallant, seriously needs to be resigned next year. Would be great talent lost in my opinion.

If he doesn't get signed, who would replace him?
