I have always been a huge supporter of Tim Sheens. I love the way he transformed the club, I love the way he has brought some of our juniors along as well and I love the fast exciting brand of football we play. On the down side, some of his purchases and his team selections leaves me scratching my head.
I have always been against punting him and the main reason for that is the lack of quality coaches on the market. The thing is nothing is forever in this game and sooner or later we're going to have to get a new coach. Names like Brown, Folkes, and Murray have been thrown about and I think they're good coaches but they've had their time in the NRL. Kearney and Flanagan have had their names thrown about as well but they're untested under the pressures of NRL coaching.
The man I'd like to see replace Tim Sheens is Jason Taylor. He had an awesome run with Parramatta, did some good things with Souths and I still believe today that they made a mistake punting him and it could prove the difference for them. The thing I like about Jason Taylor is he has an excellent understanding of the game, he is highly intelligent with reading the game, he's an excellent communicator and most importantly, he's a local boy to Campbelltown. He'll know how to get the fans to dig deep into their pockets and support the club even more financially.
I would like Taylor to serve an apprenticship first. I think he was rushed into a head coaching position before he was ready. I am not sure he is as tactically inclined as I would like either.
