He expended a fair bit of effort pouring crap on our culture, players and our club unity after he left.

Now whatever beef he had, as well as any part truth was there, it was classless and unprofessional. It got to the point where Flanagan actually spoke in the media about how he essentially told Fifita to STFU and move on.

He made it obvious that he felt betrayed and angry at the club. Seems like a long shot he would return because he wants to play with his mates.

yea but he hated Sheens and Humphreys, he still loves the club and he is friends with: Farah, Woods, Sironen, Koroibete and others. Trust me there is a huge chance but he will be on quite a fair bit of money which I think he deserves. If our starting props are Fifita and Woods with Buchanan and Sue off the bench hell will go loose.

On the surface I'd say he's no chance, but this part of the thread makes some sense. Fifita's grumblings were more to do with the coaching staff and admin rather than the players themselves. Going on current form he'll be commanding quite a few dollars. And who knows, maybe we're making plans for life without Galloway?

The Cronulla Sharks will open contract-extension talks with boom front-rower Andrew Fifita after the State of Origin.

The former Wests Tigers tearaway is locked in until the end of next season but coach Shane Flanagan wants him on a long-term deal.

Fifita emerged from Monday night’s battle with the South Sydney pack as arguably the game’s No 1 front-rower.

**Remarkably, he shouldn’t even be at the Sharks. If Nathan Tinkler hadn’t have personally contacted Kade Snowden and convinced him to join the Newcastle Knights when he was on the cusp of re-signing at Cronulla, the Sharks wouldn’t have signed Fifita or Bryce Gibbs from the Tigers.**

and what we have to wait till 2015, and have another shit year in 2014 while we wait around. he is no chance to come back and we all should move on and hope we sign someone for next year.

The only Fifita we might get back to the Tigers is David. And if you judge a player by his weight he will have a much bigger impact than Andrew.

We should not be getting too ahead of ourselves on Fifita. Sure he's having a barnstorming year, he is making people notice and his stats are backing up the hype so far.

BUT this form was not present 2012; we weren't bemoaning his loss much last year.

Plenty of players have a good season or half up their sleeves, it is not yet the making of a elite career.

Players on a rapid rise may command top dollar, but that does not guarantee ongoing delivery - let us recall Poore, Snowden, O'Hara, T-Rex, Learoyd-Lars, Idris, Brett White… all briefly played Origin.

It might have been true once but the better he plays and the longer he plays and bonds with the Sharks players means the less likely this is. He'll probably re-sign on a huge deal at Cronulla.

I can relate to that !!

Mixing bowl treatment for me

Fifita will chuck another Blair….
Not because he's not talented, but because our coaching staff will want him to crab and fend rather than run hard.

Look at Heighington now for example - none of that roly poly turn your back to the defence.

In fact, Blair has become the new Heigno. woops i digress.

On Fifita, He'll be back to where he started if he came back.

Love him in the NSW squad, what a machine.

Its starting to look like ''If you wanna kill your rep career - WTs is the place to be"…I'm afraid

the word on the radio today is Fifita will extend his contract ay Cronulla….THEY WANT HIM...why would he even think of coming back here...and Fat George is still rumoured to be heading our way.

It has always been like that since our inception though, even when Hoppa, Skando, Prince etc were playing footy deserving of an Origin spot they never got a look in. Origin (NSW team especially) has always been a case of whether you play in one of the NRL's favoured teams IMO (Dragons, Bulldogs) more so than how good you are.
The Bunnies are top of the comp and can only manage 2 players in Origin game 1 as well.
