Rumour Ricky Stuart to West Tigers

last time i checked he won a grand final and coached roosters to 2 grand finals.

plus, you can see the results he is producing with the NSW team. in the 7 years, i've never seen NSW perform better than this.

SOO has made ordinary coaches look good (Stuart was the last to snare the origin trophy for the Blues, and Mal was a failure at club level,) and good coaches looks ordinary (Bennett's record in origin wasn't flash and Bellamy was an abject failure.) Many of us could have "coached" QLD to six straight origin victories with the squad being inundated with a generous amount of "once in a generation" players. NSW are performing better this year through a combination of choosing the right players, not being decimated by injury and finally players playing to their potential.

Stuart inherited an amazing squad that Graham Murray built and won 2002 by default since the Dogs were found to have cheated the cap. Much like the QLD origin side, many inferior coaches would have taken the Chooks to three grand finals running also given the roster that he had.

The final nail in the coffin for me was when he let Brett Kimmorley and Isaac De Gois go from Cronulla for Brett Seymour and Corey Hughes respectively. He will be a step up for the Raiders, but there isn't much worse out there than David Furner. Would be a massive step backwards.

All his achievement at the roosters were whilst Phil Gould was director of coaching and development .

It does not surprise me at all that this has come up after a couple of loses , this would never happen after a win

Make of it , what you will

First the Eels, then the Raiders, now the tigers. I don't think anyone knows what Ricky is doing other than Ricky. I think he'd be at longest odds to join us.

Parra appointed Chris Anderson as coaching director which i find absolutley hillarious because Anderson was out of touch with the modern game in 07\. God knows how far he'll be 5 yrs later

rather have Daniel Anderson /John Lang combo at wests-tigers ahead of Ricky stuart.

I wont name names, but a Penrith player who was in the 2003 GF side told me that they loved John Lang as bloke, but reckon he was clueless as a coach, surprised me when I heard it, I assumed that he was a decent coach, and given they won the comp and this bloke was clearly in the "in crowd" at Penrith why he was there, clearly not sour grapes, and this bloke is definitely not a bagger.

Anyway off topic thought others might find it interesting

The Anderson thing shocked me when I read it. Remember the one marker ploy he started the year with.

The last thing i was told earlier in the week was signed, sealed and delivered to the Eels. Announcement to me made in 2 weeks. Then the next day i hear the Chris Anderson stuff, so the Eels stuff is probably inaccurate.

Maybe he's spent the past 5 years brushing up on it, GNR.

Most here said the same/similar about Utai….you just never know.

I didn't … I fully supported the big U

So you'd settle for Stuart would you Ink ?

Not my decision as we all know, but if the club went this way….I'd give him a go before judging.

You?

I don't want Stuart at the Tigers period. I don't like him and I don't believe that he would be any better than Sheens or another option who wasn't such an unlikable person.
