Rumour: Tigers have two secret meetings with Ivan Cleary

1\. What crediblity does "NRL Rumour Mill" on facebook have?
2\. It reads like an 6 year old wrote it.
3\. There has been 'talk' by who? Random people on Twitter don't count…

Throw it in with the rest of the trash rumours...

Can't find the page, found the image on twitter. Fair enough.

It was posted by the NRL Rumour Mill on the 30th of November…just under it... was James Roberts re-signing with the Titans...a week is along time in rugby league..

It gets it's stuff from such luminaries as the Lurkster Moley Weidler Ritchie Massoud and Rothy ...then recycles it....

Absolutely 851\. But I'm so over the " Coach" discussion. Unless of course there's facts to substantiate the rumour.

Wasn't aware of that, sorry mate

No matter how much people dislike Taylor, the most likely scenario is he will at the very least start the season as head coach…

Out of all the turmoil of recent times, it would almost be insane to boot him now. If Taylor is cut pre-season, the Club is again painted as a joke for allowing Farah to run the joint and knife another coach. Whether it happened in the past or not, in the court of public opinion, everyone knows how it will be portrayed.

As it stands, we have 2 ready made fall guys in both Farah and Taylor if either are to flop... both could also as easily also be easily spun to be saviors, Farah has a good year, the team goes well, Taylor is hailed for putting a rocket up Robbie, Robbies becomes vindicated, Taylor lauded as turning it all around...

Even if only to save face, I dont see them giving Taylor a tap on the shoulder. We cannot afford to keep losing the PR battle.

If you can get Cleary you would sack Taylor immediately. Do we have the cash to get Cleary? I am not so sure. There is no debate if we have cash and Cleary wants to coach the Tigers you pull the trigger now.

The poor old Walker bros are no longer the flavour of the month.

We need a credible, experienced coach. Only options would be Cleary, Toovey otherwise one more year and see what happens with Taylor.

But they coach the way we're supposed to play. Everyone was falling over themselves a month ago for them to be signed. Haven't heard one mention of them in a month. Its as if people latch onto whoever is available. I remember way back when Steve Folkes was the savior. No established coach in their right mind would come anywhere near us if we sack Taylor (which we won't)

I agree the Walker Brothers were an exciting option but with a young roster lacking talent its the wrong fit. The Cleary rumour is gaining momentum because of the relationship with Pascoe and Cleary prefers to stay in Sydney. My only point would be if Pascoe's relationship could attract Cleary you have to make the move. I don't share the faith about Taylor he will be gone in April if we have a losing record.
The current management team that are tied to his hiring will change after March 31st 2016.

The walker brothers coach like Benji Marshall plays. They try low percentage plays and when it works they look brilliant but when it doesn't it looks amature. They couldn't get away with it in the NRL.

Taylor has earned to the right to serve his time and see what he can do. If at the end of three years all he has accomplished is to clear the decks then so be it.

If it was 'secret', how does anyone know about it?

Either someone conducting the meeting or Cleary can't be trusted?

Shouldn't be too hard to work out who to sack or not hire!

I dont want to go back to the Low percentage stuff ever again.

High percentage styles get you to the Semi finals more often than not. Thats What I want and JT is the first guy our history that is willing to get this cruiser to change direction.

I cant keep thinking up reasons and excuses for the Tigers losing soooooo often, My kids are sick of going for a loser club. JT isnt flashy oand certainly didnt get the Robbie Farah thing right, Hindsight is brilliant.. BUT he is at least trying to do what Melb, Roosters, Manly do which is have a solid Defence before anything.

I dont realy rate Cleary for some reason.

We did not need to flick Potter and likewise Taylor. This club is calling out for stability and every five minuted people want to make major overhauls. Winning clubs keep it simple and make minimal changes from year to year.

We just do not have the money to be flicking coaches who are under contract every second year and every time you appoint a new coach its back to square one and we as supporters write another year off as a year of transition while the new coach beds in his coaching philosophies. Also there is never any certainty that the new one is better than what you already have, the old saying the grass always looks greener on the next hill.

I think if Taylor is flicked it will be more a damage control thing than anything to do with coaching, I think the brand name has been smashed from pillar to post and Pascoe may see Taylor as the sacrificial lamb
