Rumour: Tigers sign Tim Mannah for rest of 2019

I have been off air since yesterday arvo...just read the post title and fell off my chair.

Who are making these calls and what’s in it for us. Iam sure Tim is a great guy but he is the last thing we need, although he may be just one piece in a bigger jigsaw who knows.

Being a Tigers supporter is the hardest gig in town. When they hit rock bottom they always find another level to go down to

Here’s what we know so far regarding the Tigers and Eels movement.
The Tigers and Eels are expected to raid each other. Tim Mannah will join the Tigers on less than 100k for the remainder of 2019. While the Tigers are also expected to get some cap relief with the Eels taking Russell Packer off their hands.
Parramatta are also back in the driver's seat to gaining George Burgess from the Rabbitohs.
And both the Tigers and Eels are interested in signing Waqa Blake who will get the all clear from Penrith to look elsewhere.

As much as i'm against the signing. Paying $100k for Mannah to get rid of the lions share of Packer would be a miracle.

If we get rid of a portion of Packer’s contract, in return for Mannah as a short term solution, and we spend the rest of the season searching for an upgrade on Mannah for 2020, then I don’t thimk there should be many complaints.

Whilst I was shocked when I heard, Mannah was playing ok early in the year coming off the bench, he actually surprised me, so for bugger all money he is probably a good buy.
He may also need to get his NRL appearances up this year to qualify for a ESL contract next year, he will not be any worse than what we got, he should actually be better, welcome Tim, hope you prove the knockers wrong mate

Absolutely. I'm against the signing on it's own, but if it means we get rid of Packer with Eels carrying some of the freight, it's a big win.

IF this happens its not a given that its a swap for Packer. I doubt that even parra are dumb enough to take him off our hands.
