Russell Packer and Willie Mason

These are 2 players I would be signing for next season. Im sick of other clubs signing bad boys and turning them around and having success. Its about time we took a risk. I know we need centres but we could sign Israel Folau and he would do nothing if our pack was being dominated the way it is.

Mason would only need to play 25 min but I think he could be good to help get the boys together. Help build a culture in the pack.

As good as Woods is he is not an enforcer. I think Packer could be this man.

The centres I would be looking at are Ryan Morgan and Dale Copely. Also does anyone know when Jarrod Croker is off contract?

Thoughts people

There's a good chance packer will still be in jail next year. Even if he scores early parole, I can't see the NRL rushing to register him any time soon.

No thanks.

We have the forwards. Whats happening with our forwards now has been happening since the game evolved. Disharmony and discontent will bring down any pack. I dont care if you have Lazarus, Harrigan, Menzies, Clyde and Price in your pack….eventually they get mentally brought undone by all the drama within the workplace. Its only human and happens in every workplace when there are people causing trouble, be it management or a colleague.

Our forwards will be more than fine once moral is sorted.......if moral is ever sorted.

I think I've read this somewhere else before ??

Oh wait….
I read it weekly on here by different posters.

We all know the problems,
Not sure the bosses do though.

GO LAWRENCE!
CAN'T WAIT TILL MOLTZEN IS BACK, THEN WE'LL SMASH 'EM !!

Backwards step signing someone like Mason, imo. He has had his day and is well past his best, and we have enough 'past it' players on our books already. And Packer is not an enforcer, he is a criminal - not someone we need or want.

As KS said most of the players in our pack are actually good enough, it's the discontent surrounding the club that's killing them at present, even though they all swear it isn't. I saw enough earlier in the year, when we smashed Souths and Manly upfront, to know that these guys can do the job, once all the crap is sorted and they have their minds on the job again.

Also, I've noticed everyone keeps making comments that we should try to sign Dale Copley for next year - correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that he is actually still contracted to the Broncos til 2016, so unfortunately any decent centres off contract in the NRL will be hard to find. We may need to take a look at the ESL to find some spark to add to our three quarter line, which is the main area we desperately need someone, imo.

no need for any props

woods, galloway, taupau, ava, lodge, brown, buchanan all signed up.

we might need someone like willie for the leadership but will be hard to find a place for him even in the nsw cup team.

Dont we had a tendency to sign older/injured players ?
Broken or damaged comes at a reduced price and the results are usually what you pay for..

Wade McKinnon, Anasta, lote , Matthew Head and more that we have signed that were older, cheaper or were injured most when they played
Enough is enough, we need some Iron Men in the team

There are better options. If we wanted an "enforcer" type we could have bought Ashton Sims. Lodge is more than capable of being this player though. Lodge is going to be huge next year imo.

To be honest we have really got lucky with Lodge. He's probably the best prop in the NYC now and he's eligible to be there again next year.

While our boys got murderised by the Roosters last night, I don't think it's through lack of ability. As King Sirro said, it was a mental defeat. Putting your body on the line in front of a rampaging Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Sam Moa and Kane Evans and crashing into the defence requires a lot of mental strength and determination. I saw Woods get trampled last night even.

What seems to be clear is that Galloway needs to go. He is just too slow. Woods and Taupau to start next year with Lodge and Seumanufagai off the bench. Always have one worker and one enforcer on the field. Buchanan (worker) and Brown (enforcer) as backups for this role.

I agree with this. Add in some fast wingers and I think we have a decent team if we somehow have some luck with injuries.

Every year there should be a blend of new signings( not has beens), existing players and young guns in a squad. We never get it right. The younger players aren't learning anything from our first graders, what ever is passed on is not from a player that knows what it takes. We once again seem to be stuck with the same squad in 2015, so once again expect us to be mediocre as there is no challenging for the top 17.
New signings bring on new ideas and challenges, but once again forget it. In all honesty sometimes I think why do our rookies stay, to achieve and learn you have to look elsewhere. We have our favourites but how many of our best 17 will hold a NRL spot elsewhere. I'm sick and tired of the 3-5 year plan, there is no such thing, just a load of crap, which other teams have these 3-5 year plans, NO ONE, it's about next year. This place is no hope of being a power house in our lifetime.

If we're going to poach backs from anywhere, Melbourne would be my first target. Even losing Waqa they have the likes of Chambers, O'Neill, Duffie, Fonua, Mann, Slater, Koroibete and Tonumaipea and probably more that I'm unaware of in the lower grades.
Copley would be great, but with a price tag. If we could get Duffie on the cheap after all his injuries I'd take him, and Tonumaipea is identical to Nofo, I'd sign him in a heartbeat.

Back on topic, no to Mason, massive bugger off to Packer. We've got the depth in forwards, we're one top quality back and a few seasons experience from being genuine contenders.

At present the club is broken mentally, thats right from the board down to the playing roster, the place is a basket case, but six months of hard work and plenty of rehab next year could be good. Generally the roster is not to bad. Two class outside backs would be great, but I doubt their is anything much better than what we have in the market place. Maybe James Oconnor the rugby bad boy might be worth having a talk to.

The new Storm winger I believe is very fast.

He's good under the high ball too .

Well he surprised me on sat nite .. Took a great bomb and took a great cross field kick from cronk to score . I think he's improved heaps since heading down to melb .

In a slum even the superstars look ordinary
