Packer + Mautilino for pretty much the same cash as woods + ava. Thats a huge upgrade.

Reynolds for Moses. Another big upgrade.

…...... for Tedesco. Last piece of the puzzle. Id be happy with Lolohea. I see something in him. He has plenty of potential. Unlike our divas he has experienced hardship. He has been dropped, he is unwanted. A new club will do him wonders and especiallly being coached by an ex fullback.

What's it matter if Cleary is an ex fullback. He should be able to coach a fullback regardless.

Of course it matters, its common sense. If you played your career as a fullback you would be able to give much better advice then you could give a forward. It would be based on your experience playing nrl as a fullback and he could really take him under his wings, mentor him and make him an nrl standard fullback. Unless you know better lol.

Agree with 05TIGZ, GNR - a coach is a coach and can coach all positions but the position you have played yourself gives you more expertise. That is why clubs sign Joey to coach the halves etc. they don't employ him to coach the front rowers. It stands to reason that Cleary could assist a FB with the finer points.

Taylor didn't help Brooks did he?

Its a load of crap that a coach should be able to coach someone in a position because that's where he played. He should be able to coach every position otherwise why is he there.

You're talking about a different role for Johns. Someone who is being employed specifically to mentor one or two guys. He's not in charge of a whole NRL side.

Cant wait till we play the rorters next year! Put up a big bomb for Turncoat and send Packer full steam at him!

What a difference in toughness and aggression, Matulino for Woods, Packer for Ava, Reynolds for Moses, adding McQueen.

Not saying it is guaranteed to work out, but I'm finally glad to have a team that is starting to look tough, not just nice guys who try hard.

In the last 10 years the only guys we've had that put real fear into the opposition, could hurt them, were Taupau, Ellis, Dwyer and Tuiaki. Obviously two of those guys were retired, one chooffed off.

So looking forward to having mongrels sprinkled across the park.

Turnstyles thoughts:
- people make mistakes. horrible thing to do to someone, but by all accounts he has turned himself around and done his time, so deserves to live his life as we all are.

- excellent signing by the tiges. a mongrel forward… finally!

- GNR - i cant see how you cant understand that a coach would be able to empathise and give his knowledge by experience to a player in the position he played in? this is exactly why Andrew Johns is employed by clubs... maybe Taylor just wasnt that good a halfback?

Can't be true. No one decent will want to play for Wests Tigers.

I'm so sick of hearing this palava that we can't attract players. If the comment was we couldn't attract players for less than what they are being offered at their current clubs was stated I'd agree with it. Once we offer decent money they come running.

We are in the same position as basically every other club. The Cowgirls and Broncos still pay big dollars to get their players.

Common boys…no more bringing up Russell's past...he's done his time...let's all get behind him now as a tiger....welcome onboard mate...and well done to our front office, who according to a few fleas in the media, are a rabble

Great news!

Go forward will help our halves, we do need players that can come on and keep the momentum when the starting props are off.

Some speed on the wings and we are well on our way up the ladder next year!

If he puts in for us, he'll receive my support. Made mistakes in the past and he has atoned for them somewhat. More than what I can say for about 95% of the rest of the players in the competition that get caught with drugs or belting their missus.

On field he is a great signing. No surprises that the Saints halves have improved off the back of their pack.

Obviously Cleary is in charge of the whole side, that's his job. However as a ex nrl fullback who played over 180 games, even blind freddy will tell you that someone like lolohea will benefit from him.

In regards to JT and Brooks. Well we all know how good Jt was a coach. The worst thing he did was give moses control of the team. Since cleary has come on board and put brooks in charge we have seen a completely different player. While brooks has improved dramatically the other sook has gone downhill.

Im not sure how we will all cope with 2 front rowers who hit with intent and get quick play the balls. This is very foreign to our halves. Im concerned this style will really confuse our guys.
