Russell Packer

Next game is Packer's chance at redemption. His darkest day on the field, Easter Monday last year, was against Parramatta. I haven't forgotten how he pretended to tackle Reed Mahoney cause he was too tired.

He got hammered by the fans for that game and pulled off the field not long after that try.
Has anyone bothered to consider that he could have sustained that foot injury in that game or a game before and he actually wasn’t fit?

It was good to see Packer back to a bit of his old form....but it was also good to see how amped he was in the sheds after the win.....

Picked for All Stars. Pack is back in rep footy!

Does that mean we have to pay him a Rep bonus? Ugghh it never ends...

On the plus side it could mean souffs have gotta pay Benchies rep bonus as well. Dodged a bullet

Well at least people can't complain we don't have any rep players
Packer is leading the way and showing our team
Worth every cent
Just another player Tigers have developed to rep standards
And the best thing is Packers value just went up

Even if he gets a bruise in this rep game, WT should immediately tell the NRL he will be missing 12 weeks of the regular season and get half of this years wages for him chipped off our salary cap. Roosters-style. Too easy😉

I really had high hopes for Packer. Thought he could be the enforcer we badly needed. The 19m match pretty much did me in but I suppose I don’t know all the details - maybe he was injured. The half time exit was pathetic!
I’ve lost hope in him and can’t see him getting near our prop rotation but in saying that I would love to see him regain his heart and toughness and show us all he is better than 19m!

I don't think we've ever had another player that I had so much hope for with so little reward.* I used to dream of him when he was at Saints. 100m, found his front almost all the time. stopped people short in defence.

*maybe Jason Cayless

I think people are a little unfair on Matulino, you are going in early on Tamou.

Tamou???? What are you basing that on?
No way he will be a dud. His leadership alone on and off the field will be priceless.

Nick Graham was our biggest flop, he was fantastic for the Sharks.
Sam Harris too had all the attributes of a great player but he did nothing at our club.

Bit of a reoccurring theme unfortunately. Hoping those days are over.

It’s my understanding that he played injured for near 2 years, someone must think he still has it.

I hope he kills it and is one of the leaders of our team, his training pics suggest he will, we need everyone firing

That was the common opinion, but then he was said to be back to fit mid-season. Ran for 150m against the Broncos in the match where we flogged them. 5 weeks later, 15m against a good team.

Yes with the same injury I believe

Agent Kidwell to the rescue.

Wests Tigers have been under the radar this season and it could be Packer who is one of those leading the charge.
