Ryan booted!

I will be fuming if Ryan is released. IMO he was our second best player this year behind Woods.

- Every game he gives his all.
- Most of his tries are scored through determination and skill.
- He does have speed….it is a myth he is without it. Whenever there is a break he is there, whenever a run away try is scored he is the first Tiger there to congratulate...he is no slouch.
- He always puts his body on the line - in attack and defence
- He always puts his hand up to take a dummy half run and sometimes a tap restart
- He scored 5 or 6 tries this year where he was given the ball in an impossible position and created something magic to get the job done.
- He has a football brain. I remember the try against Canberra where he was on his wing, recieves the ball in a nothing situation, completes a Benji like run where he ran a diagonal line and stepped 2 or 3 defenders at speed before delivering a pin point grubber in behind the defensive line for Rowdy to score untouched. That was a 5/8ths play and he pulled it off in such a confident and professional manner that many at the ground were shocked....I wasnt.
- He regularly outplays his opposite winger with brains rather than brawn. How many tries has he scored where he drops the ball onto the toe, runs around his opposite and scores? He does it all the time. When he plays a more fancied winger such as Vatuvei he regularly comes out on top - even if the side loses he wins his personal battle.

Beau is a blokie who has worked his butt off to cement a first grade spot. He is exactly the type of player you want in the trenches with you...if he cant get the job done, you will rest assured he died trying. Give me 5 more players with his attitude and we would still be alive in this years competition.

Beau is more important to the team than utai. We saw in the later rounds how easily utai can be exploited under the high ball. I'd like to keep both (utai off the bench for go forward) but if it came down to it I would take beau in a heartbeat, he's the safest player at the club under the high ball

If he gets booted this club is officialy hopeless and should go down as one of the worst clubs ever.

You said in another thread yesterday that they should let him go :wtf

I just want to add one thing in defence of Beau Ryan.

No winger will kill it for the tigers playing outside BLAKE AYSHFORD. I challenge anyone to think back over the last three years and think back to a time where Blake Ayshford set up his outside man. You will be lucky to think of one time, because I can't think of even one. And that should be a FUNDAMENTAL part of being a centre (drawing the winger, setting up outside men etc). But he's never done it. And if you want an example this year, I think Beau scored 9 times and I think 7 of them were off kicks.

Its not going to matter whose on that wing, whether its Koroibete, Ryan, Nofolomu, there not going to have that much impact when Ayshford is there. He can't pass and lacks any real vision. Just tries to charge straight through every time, and he doesn't really have the speed to do so.

well said, he was one of the best wingers in NRL, he runs without fear, and often makes 10-15 m on his kick returns, it would be great if more players have his attitude (especially our current FB :frowning: )
IMHO, Ryan is like Fulton, not a superstar, but a player every club needs to keep.

That's unbelievable if that is what is going to happen. He plays with twice the heart and effort of some players at the club.

I'll believe it when I see it, but if it does transpire, it will be the lowest thing this club has ever done.

Sheens is throwing everyone else under the bus to save his own skin, and it's deplorable.

I kind of wonder if he knows his times up and he's just pressing the self destruct button.

The only circumstance where I will be ok with this happening is if Nofoaluma, Koroibete. Hitchcox, Simona & Agia are the five wing options we carry into the season

Possible scenario: Sheens is expected to move on and talks have begun with new coach. New coach wants to bring in some of his own talent and is given the mandate to clear the decks but sees some salary cap pressures.

Looks at roster and says who can we move along - Ryan and Heigno are mentioned.

**How would people feel if the cost of Sheens moving on was Beau and Heigno?**

Put absolute playing talent aside and I feel that signing and then releasing players is poor business. In the space of 12 months we will have effectively lost the heart and soul of our club in Gibbs,Heino and Beau. Beau was in our top 3 players this year. He needs to remain.

B.R has performed well in the wing position but not so great when picked out of position elsewhere in the backline.
Beau Ryan is a good winger who normally plays to the best of his ability & should be considered
for selection only as a winger.
He has earnt his place as part of the Tigers backline roster.
The Tigers have a number of issues concerning their at times erratic, pathetic performances but sacking Beau Ryan as part of the solution seems unfair. I wish him all the best if he is forced to leave the club.

Last year we didn't want moltzen and then we did after he agreed with the dragons. This year we wanted Ryan for another 3 years and now we don't? What is going on with this club? It seems the only person who can decide their own future is sheens !! Hopefully someone buys him a mirror for Christmas .

People, settle down, where in the article does it say Beau is being booted?

Here are some things to consider:

1) Article is from the Telegraph
2) Quote from the article says: "Ryan has agreed to a three-year extension, but cannot ink the deal until the club gets clearance on salary cap issues." nowhere does it say he is gone. It is only specualtion from that article.
3) Article is from the Telegraph

And most importantly

4) THE ARTICLE IS FROM THE FREAKING TELEGRAPH - since when do we believe anything from this particular source, it is as bad as Mr. D. Weidler who gets his scoops from 3rd hand sources, who get their info from forums like this.

I am not saying there isn't truth in this, but perhaps before blowing up over this perhaps wait for some information from a reputable source.

Adam Blair's pay packet. That went unquestioned

And on several occasions people on here who I believe have more credibility that that paper have said that what has been reported isn't accurate and that he is on much less.

However that information is always ignored when people want to complain and have some "evidence" to back up their arguments.
