Sack Humphreys

Haha….honesty....He lied thru his teeth before our current jerseys were designed, saying they all wanted some designs totally unique to WTs and far removed from Balmain & The Magpies, something that depicts our own identity........and then comes out with basically a Balmain jersey as our main

different orange but a nice jersey….orange is a color no other nrl team uses so why not have it as a main.

Is that his role ...what jersey we go with

Ive no probs with orange, its when you add two black Vs it becomes a Balmain jumper

Its clear where Humpty thinks ''home'' is

WTs/Balmain hall of fame dinner.

He is more divisive on the JV than many are on here

Anyone who think Humphreys should be sacked is an idiot -which isorb why ink agreed
With it . We have seen increased membership, increased sponsorship, increased crowds and 2 top 4 finishes out of 3 years he has been in charge. We will next yr see one nsw cup side, we have seen our under 20s team in the prelim final. If you think he has been a poor CEO then the only thing to be thankful for is that you have no say in running our club

You bag a persons opinion with stating the obvious, but you miss one point, 3 finals campaign's in 10 years. Like Ink and so many other fans and myself, we dont want to follow also rans. We have the talent to be front runners. Humphrey's was disgraceful on the game plan programme, if you give that impression on camera, that's how you get judged. Forget Balmain or the Magpies Boonboon, the WT fan won't except crap from club or disillusioned supporters.

Yes but the 3 campaigns in 10 years is with sheens , while the 2 in 3 years is with Humphries who this thread is about. He wasn't disgraceful on the game plan he was diplomatic which is part of his job description.

Ok boon boon who hires or fires the coach?

Well I'd imagine the WT board. Are you a member of one of the Football Clubs? Do you go to the AGMs?

He was stubborn, ("Tims our coach, thats the end of it!!")and clueless….."Tim likes to rearrange the gym, keeps the players fresh"
My god

Theres probably a handful from both sides of the JV that do.

With SG Ball being the senior teams for both sides of the JV from next year when WTs state cup team comes in, even less will bother committing to the football clubs, less voting members….just how Sheens & Humphreys want it :deadhorse:

Absolutely nothing to stop anyone on this forum joining either of the football clubs. Football clubs elect the board members who elect the WT board. If people want change, get involved.

Mate we are all for the same cause, but to appear in the media and offer that message, to me it sounded like Sheens is going or Humphrey's hasn't got a clue. I respect your opinion, but I'd just like to add, when the going gets tough will the tough get going or bail out with a golden handshake. One things for sure, you and me will still be there at the end of the day.

i dont give two craps if it's WT is becoming too balmainy.. but that's just me.

the only point against humphreys for me is his inability to show the passion for RL in general. the moltzen saga and his inability to please the fans imo highlights that.

apart from that, getting big sponsors and the corporate side of things, so far he is doing it alright.

idk, i dont know much but i got no probs with him

Now that that's all been sorted.

Can I return to a point made by Ink, regards the orange jersey.
Thinking back to my childhood days and my wad of footy cards, and more specifically the cards featuring Jeff Shield or Gary Leo or even the great Neil Pringle etc … The Balmain orange was a kind of dirty yellow or mustardy colour ... Today however we are supporting a hideously fluoro style of orange which to be totally frank is a most unmanly hue and could actually be contributing quite negativly toward the contemporary scourge of type 2 diabetes... heaven knows my blood sugar levels are way out of whack after a trip to Leichhardt, especially after a visit from the Raiders.

Thoughts ?

Am a member been a supporter for over 50 years but haven't been to an AGM yet..my grandfather was a dentist in gladesville and took me to my first Tigers game when I was 5…he was the ultimate tiger supporter...the most depressing day of my life so far was a Sunday in 1989

Anyhow.. Board would usually expect a recommendation from CEO as to who to hire or fire, then discuss and either decline or approve the recommendation. I would be astounded if Humphreys main KPI was not built around the performance of the coach and the performance the Ist Grade team unless the club was in the rebuilding mode. I don't think the club was in rebuilding mode in 2012\. Whilst I acknowledge Humphreys has done ok on the fluffy stuff in his job description this doesn't end up meaning much if the 1st Grade team doesn't deliver as the key drivers for the club to be successful are sponsorship & membership $ and the only way to maximise both is to be around the top 4 ..top 8 worst case scenario every year. The real issue I see is Most teams get a 2-3 year window of opportunity to win a premiership and I think that window was closed for us this year and if the person responsible for making the big decisions doesn't make them ... We are in for a lot of pain for the next couple of years. Forum members can & should talk all they want about sacking Sheens but the reality is it is not our job to hire & fire..it is the Job of the CEO

Ignore the point….why would anyone join a football club of a junior rep team?
To wait three years to obtain a vote on half - yes half a WTs board?
Get real.
One day there will not be a single voting member...that is where we are heading

Humphreys has his good points, but he knows little about football, nothing about passion, he is losing fans & members left right and centre

Watching the 20s last night on & off made me realise how much passion I have lost for the NRL team....I would not be alone, as last w/ends crowd showed. Sheens & Humphreys are responsible for this

Humphrey's KPI's would be based on a number of things

Sponsorship dollars

Membership Numbers

Club profitability

Team and coaching performances to a degree

You become a member because you want to influence the direction of the club. Both of them are 50% partners in an NRL team. I doubt there are too many people who's decision to join is influenced by whether the highest team they field in their name is SG Ball, Bundy Cup, or NSW Cup.

As for not knowing about football - I highly doubt that. We're talking about a former player with first grader whose family has spent a lifetime involved in the game.
