Sack Marshall

I did not anticipate anything like this season nor would most supporters. If previous managment put Benji in charge, the current management are duty bound to remove him before club total disappears any gets its licence removed as we are not competitive and and embarrassment in the NRL.
Then I’d say your knowledge of NRL rosters/teams needs some work. To add to this, all the bookmakers had us running last, which is based on complex analytics based mainly around the roster. The current management aren’t incompetent, so they won’t just blame the head coach like the last mob.

Maybe so, but did anyone anticipate us only winning 2 games for the season. Unless we win this week, I can't see what other game we can win.
As I previously stated, the mangement is not incompetent, only the coach is not the answer to reform the club. We need a hard nose coach driving standards and not one who is more concerned with lifestyle and mental health. This is a brutal game unfortunately, and only the toughest clubs survive. We just make up the numbers. We are all tired of this continuing.

We tried the hard nosed approach with Madge; didn't work out that well if I recall correctly.

Who inside the club is making noise about Benji not being the man for the job? Do you have a link to the inner sanctum or are you stating your opinion as fact. I'm not hearing Richo state anythng but support and I haven't heard one player making noise. Sure Stef and Galvin's managers are making noise - but it is in their interests, almost as much as the journos to kick up a stink.

Accoring to half this forum Ciraldo had no idea last year and was a fraud. So were parts of the media - there are the same clowns lauding him as a footballing guru for torunignthe dogs around is such a short period. He is coming in at the end of a rebuild that started with the big clean out after Barrett.

I'm not saying Benji is the answer - but I'm not hearing anything from anyone besides disgruntled fans and dickhead journos who sensationalise everything for ratings. If you have some evidence I'm all ears!

The results speak for themselves.I'm not sure what other evidence you want.

how many straight losses, 9 or 10...when you get into numbers like that 1 or 2 more don't really matter...but I consider that fairly substantial evidence

So you would have sacked Ciraldo last year too! How short sighted would you be.

The results aren't great sure - but what evidence is there that Benji: isn't putting in the hard yards, can't coach or the players don't support him?

Those in the know are backing him and "appear" to be providing the support needed to get the club from the cellar into the eight. We haven't seen what support mechanisms Richo has in mind for 2025 and beyond. I'm sure there is a plan and if Benji can't turn it around with the support in place then he will be moved on.

It is too early in Benjis tenure, and we are still carrying the dead weight of the previous administration. Explain how any coach is going to turn the current roster around. Unless we're taking peptides or magic dust no one is coming here mid season and getting us off the bottom of the table.

The only thing that can be guaranteed at the moment is that each loss brings us closer to a win!

Strange logic you have about each loss bringing us closer to a win.
So far, & for the foreseeable future, each loss is only bringing us closer to another loss.

Not logic mate - fact. We will eventually win and each time we lose we are closer to that happening - we just don't know when that win will occur so each time we lose we are closer to it. We need to lighten up a little - people are fighting over a pigskin and bragging rights.

Nooo...it's your logic...not fact
You are right with one, and only one observation...we will eventually win.
Now that could be next week (unlikely) next month (again, unlikely), next season (possibly), depending on whether we get a decent coach, or next decade (probably! Feeling confident on this one).

let's hope no one is using the Martingale system on our games...they might have already blown their bank

@Noggon,

Thank you for outlining your position so clearly. Unfortunatley you have misunderstood my statement and then gone on to prove what I said was true. Let me take you through it and then we can have a laugh about it.

1. You stated that it is true that we will eventually win so this is a fact - so I'm glad we agree on this point.

2. It is also true that we don't know if it is next week, next month, next season, under a new coach or next decade. This is another fact and something we both agree on.

So now let's test my statement to see if it is a fact. If we win in five weeks time from right now we are four losses away from a win. Correct? Yes, so this is a fact.

When we lose this weekend we will now only be three losses away from a win in what is now four weeks time. So, by all of the laws in this universe, we are one loss closer to that win. So this is a fact and proves my statement.

If it is 100 losses away and we lose this week it will only be 99 losses before we win - so again we are also one loss closer to a win.

I was just trying to lighten the mood a little with my statement. Now - all you need to do is laugh along and get back on board supporting us through the next X losses to an eventual win. Get cranky in the moment and then simply remember that we are now one loss closer to a win and a bit of enjoyment. Then let it go and get on with having a bit of fun!

Agree to disagree. I think Benji deserves next year and maybe even one more. I feel he may relate better to the new generation with his less hard nosed approach. It’s all about the recruiting and retention for him to make it or fail.

I don't understand how you compare Benji with Ciraldo. One is experienced and set up defence patterns of Panthers leading to 2 premierships and Benji is totally in experienced as a coach with no signs of improvement since he has been in. Who would want to come to WT with him as the coach unless they are getting paid way overs. They in fact want out as evident at the moment.
I like Benji and what he did as a player but not as a coach of an NRL team at this stage of his career.
