Sack Marshall

I don't understand how you compare Benji with Ciraldo. One is experienced and set up defence patterns of Panthers leading to 2 premierships and Benji is totally in experienced as a coach with no signs of improvement since he has been in. Who would want to come to WT with him as the coach unless they are getting paid way overs. They in fact want out as evident at the moment.
I like Benji and what he did as a player but not as a coach of an NRL team at this stage of his career
Go back in this thread and read post 400. I have not compared Benii with Ciraldo - I compared the trajectory we are on with the Dogs. I also stated that Ciraldo, last year, was being lambasted by the Media, Dogs fans and many on here were crowing about how badly the Dogs got it wrong and how lucky we were not to have him as a coach.

Look at Ciraldo 12 months later and what the same clowns that wanted him sacked are saying. What I am saying is that we as a club are on a similar path to the Dogs but a little behind them. So sacking Benji with a shit roster is not the right time - for a number of reasons - optics, we (the unwashed) don't have a clue what is going on in the clubs plans or how good or bad a coach Benji is. If you want him sacked that is your opinion and I'm happy for you to have it. What I am trying to show is that by comparative analysis we should probably give him and the club some more time because there is a good chance that this time we are on the right track. If it turns out not to be then piss him off - but you have to give it time. WTF is parachuting a new coach into the rebuild going to achieve - another year behind as he tries to get the roster he wants - another year behind in getting to the end goal. If we have a bit of patience we could well be in front of the game.

And I already hear the "wev'e been waiting long enough" story. Before you trot it out - go and read the post and see what I am saying and then maybe you will understand why I support his retention and the current plan. Disagree with me if you will but if you do follow up = show me some evidence that supports your reasoning - not just x losses.

As I said if the Dogs did the same where would they be now? 7th - I doubt it - year 1 of another rebuild!

Is it fact that he set up the defence patterns at the panthers or just implemented them

I've had a breather for the last 13 years. It's time for drastic action to be taken if the club is to survive. Sponsors will walk away ( Brydens have already) and others will follow.

You’re just calling for the same thing Pascoe did every other year for the last decade. That’s insane!

100% - the roster is pretty poor. Let's see how he goes in 25 with a bit more experience in the ranks!
I also hope we can get a good roster, but do not see any efforts to get some bi\g ,strong forwards. it seems we keep buying halves.

Who knows what Richo is doing - it is a closed shop until we land someone. Simpkins - no leaks, AJ, no leaks. There is clearly a plan - we won't know what it is until Richo is ready to share it with us. He has been pretty clear that there is going to be some pain!

If so, this is torture, not pain.

Even Blind Freddy can see that we are not fielding an NRL standard team! We've got 18 year old kids in the team, not because they're spectacular rugby league freaks, but because they are the only ones available!
Well said Suzie. And other NRL squads have the luxury of being able to drip feed their young players into squads that are chock full of senior players and rep players. We are a long long way off, particularly with our injury list.

Also, same Bryden’s Lawyers who were essentially unfaithful and 2-timing other clubs with sponsorship? Still one of the best indicators to Richo approach.

If you aren’t at our table during the tough times…

Without a doubt I reckon it is.
The Tigers represents a huge challenge.
I only recently found out that Stapleton was head of recruitment and retention. He would be the same person who appraises the performance of the coach. Pleased to see that Rich has sacked the recruitment guy and taken that responsibility from Stapleton.
Just another example of how messed up the organisation is/was.
It is funny that our ‘fresh’ start still includes a board member that has been there for quite some time.
Danny Stapleton was the only football type on the board but I’m not sure why he was / is the head of our list committee. Should this be a new appointment?
