Sack Sheens Thread

My take on the matter is that Sheens is and has gone already. It may not effectively have been done but i suspect the club is letting Sheens go gracefully by not announcing anything till he works out either this Warriors deal or something else (No idea what). You know the "we're sacking you but we'll give you the right to resign first" offer. Think that.

I just think that the way the situation has escalated over the pasr 2-3 days has forced the clubs hand. 2 board meetings in 3 nights, player unrest. It's rightly all over the news. I think the club has figured that it's reached the point of no return. His position is now untenable.

Yeah forget letting these players go, if sheens keeps his job it will leave more breathless than anything else.

Surely he's gone, it can only be about paying him out.

My 2 cents after last night

Whoever is managing the Salary Cap and negotiating with Players is the person who's head need to roll IMO if Humphrey's so be it

So last year we get rid of Fifitia and Gibbs to get Blair, so what do they do again same thing, get rid of Ryan and Hino to get Kite.

**SO IT SEEMS WHOEVER IS MAKING DECISIONS DIDN"T LEARN FROM LAST YEAR**

Whoever is doing negotiating needs to look at how a contract is going to affect the Salary Cap not just this year but future years

So IMO it will now take 3 years to get over this c.rap and field a competive side again

i look at it more along the lines of they felt lote had more value than ryan.
with marika lote can be a mentor for him adjusting to fulltime 1st grader along with other juniors.

i don't look at blair for gibbs and fifita.
woods was taking gibbs spot to partner galloway and when the sharks wanted fifita as well they thought groat could replace him.signed bell to play the swing forward.
blair was signed to fill the payten role, and it failed miserably.

with tedesco coming through the ranks he was able to take moltzens spot with lui entrenched in the no.7.
mad monday comes and lui srews it up and we re-sign moltzen and are now stuck with him forever.

we have signed backrowers already and are now looking to sign kite.
if we get rid of ayshford, sheens would probably play anasta in the centres or prop.

The call on players is made by the coach thats why he gets paid the big bucks and is the person to get the chop if things dont work EXCEPT at WT.Hopefully 2012 the coach will pay for his stuff ups recruitment/releasing 😛ray:

how long is it going to take for the wests tigers to get over all this bloody rubbish that is going on. this can take many seasons to turn this around may be longer if we don't get the right coach in place . :bash :brick:

it could! but depends whether the club gets a new coach at all…new coach could mean new players and some old players might leave like Benji! yeah don't be surprised if he leaves as well

If sheens is sacked then this could be (bennet&boyd) situation with him & benji both going! if i remember correctly benji does have a clause in his contract which could make this happen..

My gut feeling from Humphreys' statement last night was that Tim agreed to leave for the right payout. The board passed the hat around and came up with $82.90 cash, an Ashfield to City Circle weekly ticket, and a 2for1 Whopper Voucher and presented it to Tim. He looked at the contents of the hat and calmly did his best Larry Emdur impersonation: "Higher". So the delay in the announcement will be while the board secures finances to pay him out.

Despite the missed finals, despite the constant Under performing, despite the repeated retention of under performers week to week, despite the inability to make the tough calls despite all that the one thing that should of sent sheens packing was the use if 9 different halves combinations in a single season.

Really that should of been the thing that sent him. Total incompetence.

He's gone. I can exclusively reveal that Tim Sheens was seen alone at Maccas, teary eyed, frown on his face, balls deep in a Big Mac.

Gun Iam willing to forget all the goings on this week and although it was not handled well, I agree with Rhino and Ryan moving on but like you I will never forget the way he stuffed around with the six and seven all year. No other coach in the world would tinker with the six and seven like Sheens did

Yet Benji still thinks he's the best coach in the world. I'd like to hear benjis take on 3 finals appearances in 10 years. Gordon Tallis hit the nail on the head I thought, Sheens is passing the buck to the players.

It wasn't all that long ago that we saw South Sydney in a very similar position with Jason Taylor having lost the support of all and sundry. Money wasn't the problem for them that it is for us, but it was interesting that Crowe's choice of a replacement for the short term was John Lang, an old school coach who was assured of earning respect and providing the building blocks for a higher profile gung-ho type of coach to take the reins later on.
Unfortunately coaches like John Lang are in very short supply these days, but I'd much prefer someone like that than a Nathan Brown type at the other end of the spectrum. South Sydney survived and thrived - so will we!

Why is he still wasting his time the players have lost his support just pack up and go i wish we kept beau ryan buy we will move on we have great youngters and when we have a new coach we will be strong next year.

Ahh so you've finally flown the white flag in regards to Ryan? Another prediction from playing darts with a blindfold that didn't work out

Go away for a day and you get absolutley lost with all these threads, can't keep up. As long as the Warriors continue to hold out naming a new coach Sheens is every chance of leaving. Its like last yr when the Dogs sacked Kevin Moore, it took 2-3 months to name Hasler. There was speculation galore about what Hasler would do, and there was obviously a reason why the Dogs held off on naming someone. Wouldn't surprise me if the Warriors are in the same boat atm

From the outside looks like the Tigers are a rabble.
Who is running the joint? Triguboff, Sheens, Robbie, Benji, Humphreys, Yogi Bear?

No "established" Balmain Leagues club at Rozelle, three home grounds, coach who has lost the plot, best player playing like a zombie, contracted players in limbo.

Everyone except Sheens thinks he is a liability.

Agree with all..and two ( supposedly) profitable Wests Clubs ..things should be better.
