Sack Sheens Thread

Sack him, he has no good game plans tigers have had enough of listening to the same voice over and over sack him and let him take his groat with him

Here's a life lesson for you, think before you speak, and type for that matter because you truly are coming up with some absolute tripe which is going to bite you sooner rather than later.

Coaches are judged on performance, Sheens has just finished top 4 in consecutive years, the year is barely 1/3 of the way thru and what are we 9th?? Wait to the end of the year at least before calling for his head.

I find it mind boggling how quickly people have turned on the coach.

3 finals appearences in 3 yrs might have something to do with it

Give the Eels some credit, they had more to play for in the last 15 then the tigers….They scored some good tries and we let up...

Not many sides hold a team to 0 and to play 140 minutes of football and have 0 points scored against is an achievement. I aggree that Lote is a shadow of his past self, but he can only be better for the run. We play the Titans and then have to bye, in two weeks theres a good chance we might me sitting in the 8\. With ellis and utai to come back into the team we will be a force

Tell us how many teams concede 30 points in 13 mins

FFS they picked up the 2 points.

It wasn't pretty, they let in 30 points, get over it. Sake the coach and all the players for winning; bunch of sooks and ungreatfuls.

The first 68 minutes was all the player good doing, of course excluding Moltzen, Lote and Blair, the last 12 minutes all Sheens, Humphreys and the above 3 players…..sack the lot of them

:master:

In all seriousness, why is it that a capitulation is credited to the coach? When a 31-0 rout looked near odds on I would have loved to have heard everyone's theories then…

The fact is we never routed the Eels,we very rarely do rout sides when we get a big lead,we choke, and that is the whole point,Sheen's can't teach them to win properly,so your argument has so many flaws it's not funny.

I only presented both possible outcomes of the scenario so how my argument can have anything other than one flaw is beyond me. :crazy

In any case, my point was if we won 31-anywhere between 0-12, would the win have been the sole responsibility of the coach? When do the players become responsible for a loss? It's not that hard a question to answer… Not saying that taking Bell off late in the game isn't lunacy, but where do you apportion the blame to the players for letting in 5 tries in 12 minutes. What's he supposed to do, hook the whole bloody side?

I don't mind if you want to sack the coach but to suggest you don't want a prop that played for nsw in his age group and played Australian school boys I believe… Perhaps earlier 5 letter words are correct.

emotions run high after a game like today.
and who are you going to replace him with.
yourself?? :unamused:

may as well sack the players as well.
they were on the field.
not the coach.

You are right, emotions can run high after a game and listening to Sheens after the game he was totally pi##ed as well. I don't know what he could have done to stop parra in the last 15 mins except maybe some positional changes but it gets down to attitude of those on the field.

Sheens has to take some responsibility actually more than some.He needs to face some cold hard facts Groat is not ready for FG, Humble is not the answer for halfback, Tuquiri is no longer up for it. We have some real talent to at least experiment with Moors for Groat, Miller or Chisolm for Humble(they are real halfbacks not good utility players), and Simone or Koroibete( maybe even Grant as an experiment I know but???).Sheens is stubborn perhaps to comfortable in the ranks. Some thing needs to change.Let's the players rule the roost. He needs to be pulled up!!! Or go!!!!.He can't coach defense …...

I agree to a degree, despite posting two straight wins some fine tuning needs to take place, we don't need to, and cant make wholesale changes but I would certainly start with swapping Groat and Moors around.

Matt Utai should be back in the mix soon as well so this may force a change somewhere.

Really hard however to ignore some of the excellent work being done in the u/20's team.

For what it is worth, I don't necessarily agree with all of Sheens' selections either however looking at the tries scored by parra today, our players there at the time should have been capable or defending against the attack there wasn't anything too tricky about the attack from what I saw.

In response to this thread , i propose to keep Sheens, I think this is a more practical and positive move

I don't understand you people. What has the poor man done to deserve such a caning on here. We Won for god sakes, You can't blame sheen's for going to sleep in the last 17 minutes,Blame the team for that not the coach. I am constantly amazed that some people always want to blame Tim Sheens, next you'll be blaming him for the carbon tax or has that already happened

Not all are blamers, unfortunately its the anti-Sheens campaigners that appear to be the loudest at present.

I agree that we seem to be going in circles again and its getting boring.

Dumb thread, he had bugger all to do with the last 13 minutes there. That falls squarely onto the players.
