Sack Sheens Thread

Funny how perspective can be so easily manipulated

It has been said that sheens has only made finals 3 times in last 15 years …. Not a good record , fair call

BUT ! Sheens has made finals twice in the last 3 years , and only just missed out this year .

All else aside including the disappointment of this season , a coach who has made the finals 2 years out of the last 3 does not deserve to be sacked .

If he doesn't learn from this year and improve dramatically next year , then I would start looking at other coaching options .

But for next year I would be keeping him .

At any other club players would be lining up to play under the Australian coach, where are they?

They see the fact that if they come to us their nominated position could be different such as a winger could end up a second rower.
Why does he not see this. Whilst I appreciate the fact I am not a first grade coach or National coach he cannot continue to break up the spine.
Week 25 Moltzen Half, Wk 26 Fullback as an example. He was at Half to assist in the kicking game, BS.

Lawrence at Five Eight? I was close to the ball last night on the hill when he put up his bomb. Maybe the guy beside me gets a start at Fullback because he caught it????

Sheens is not responsible for bring in the young talent either as he waited for Korobete whilst Tuquiri flondered yet it was only when he was injured that he got a run. We look for Props yet I watched the State cup game yesterday and there was a massive unit who runs hard for Balmain Number 24 and he can't get a start. Big step up but hunger brings desire!

Rob Lui was ordinary when he started as a turnstile in defence and we stuck with him, why not do the same with Jacob Millar and he would have been a 30 game first grader by now and have a future for the next decade???

I would say good bye to Sheens and pay him the $500K as a Thank you for 2005 and bring in a defensive coach like Folkes and the natural attack would still be there but no points would be leaked through our middle.

I love the Tigers but this year you have seen me leave games Early not because of the result rather the lack of effort.

I will see whether I renew my membership based on whether effort is there in 2013

If he doesnt learn??
This isnt some 2nd year rookie coach were talking about....this is a bloke whos been around coaching for 30 years!!!

Whats one more season going to teach him if he hasnt learnt in 30 for christs sake!!!

We should do what the Bulldogs did last yr when they signed Hasler and planned on having Dymock take the reigns for 2012 till Hasler was suppose to arrive in 2013\. We should let the old man go, let Georgie take over in 2013 and go all out for Bellamy whose off contract at the end of next yr.

Sheens said: "Our depth needs to be improved - we really need to look hard at that because we really had trouble when one or two of our key players dropped out. It's just a season of disappointment."

Here is the Sheens mentality that worries me. Last night, we could have had Chisholm (who was good enough for Melbourne 1st grade last year), Humble or Miller in the 6.

WE HAVE DEPTH. It's that Sheens plays favorites. Any of those 3 would have been better than shifting Lawrence.

If only he played people in position rather than reorganizing the team every week, we wouldn't have such an issue with injuries.

I'm really hoping Anasta is just used next year as the 14 and to plug any holes in the 2nd row or halves if injury strikes.

Its o.k to say let Georgallis take over then go after Bellamy, what happens if we dont get him who do we chace then. Sheens has two years left on his contract & how much would we have to pay him out?.

What ever it costs to pay him out is money well spent,he is killing this club with his idiotic team selections, out the door at any cost, any coach would be better.

Coaching is obviously a cutthroat business, but what i'd really like to hear what other coaches would think of our 2012 team structure.- use of benji, chris lawrence, etc.

Warren smith and laurie daley constantly say that we can score points quickly- but really, those days have passed and neither mention these players being out of their correct positions.all they say is we haven't got Farrah.

i wonder how opposing coaches teach their side to play against us- successfully,of course.

The game is always changing , and people are constantly learning , things the game certainly changed this year , Wests failed to adapt or innovate further .

Or maybe take out the word learn and replace it with improve .

Blah, blah ,blah, he's trying to feel sorry for himself. If any of us don't perform in our daily jobs we would be shown the door (just a fact of life) so that should answer your question Mr Sheens

Not if there is a clause in his contract about us having to make the playoffs. I think we might only have to pay him half of his contract which would be one yr. If we failed in our bid for Bellamy at least we'd still have Georgie

Well he couldn't do any worse. Sheens hasn't set the bar very high for his successor with a 30% finals record in 10 yrs. I'm positive if his name wasn't Sheens many of the people still defending him wouldn't want a bar of him either

no more jobs for ex players and all the other crap , massive clean out at the end of 2013 will be needed if we fail again , but with anasta coming he will make a difference , thompson could be also handy , pettybourne im not sure , kite would also make a difference if he is a chance here , bellamy , would be good , but i doubt he would come here , so we start with folks , stone , anderson , taylor ,

In my opinion there are only 2 real opinions as coach if Sheens is sacked. Daniel Anderson got Parramatta to a Grand Final recently and has plenty of NRL experience or preferably Steve Folkes he will spot all this nonsense of favoritism ( from Sheens to certain players) and this boys club that seems to be going on at the tigers. Folkes would bring a real steel to there defence that haven't had since hello the last time he was here which was last year. Folkes has won a comp with the dogs and with the talent I fell we have on paper next year we should be able to push for a top 4 spot.

Ask him to walk? What over a cup of earl gray and scones? Pfff the bloke should be told to pack his bags, thanked for his services and told to go !!

I wouldn't walk away from 500k a year, the only way he will go is if there is a clause in his contract or he get a better deal at the warriors orwe pay him out, which we won't have the $$ to do

Tim Sheens has said himself that he would walk away if asked. The WT should take this opportunity and act now, for the supporters sake. People say they don't listen to supporters, well I'm telling you they do, it's called people power. What we have achieved now should be acted on immediately before the dust settles. We have to keep putting the heat on or Sheens may just survive.
Even if we have to pay him out do it. Sign the next coach through third party deals, the rot must stop.

i think your right if we don't act now we are gonna have to put up with the same old story next year.
If fans don't see a change in coaching staff i'm afraid you will see a down turn in season tickets next year , i mean the signs are already on the wall (last night) with still a hope of semi's , farewelling Gareth Ellis and we only get 10,000 fans to this game .
Really watching Smith ,Cronk, Slater should be enough to get out there to Leichardt.
