To be honest it's not much talent. If suallii gets double what he gets here good on him. The rugby boys won't appreciate him getting a big salary when they had to to the hard Yakka in the code.

Good read me ol mate.
The way I see it RA is really just one team, they could pick the eyes out of our best talent but it wouldn't be a massive raid. Some would go, pick up big dollars and come back after they fail....like our Benji' did.
True, but with Suaalii some numbers being thrown around indicate big bucks for long term?
Im just sayin, I like the hybrid remuneration scheme we have in place.
We have some NRL limits and also an unlimited income source from free enterprise. If players are smart they will tap into the unrestricted income streams like Benji, Jackson and quite a few others have done. and comfortable in the knowledge that it is portable, regardless of what team theyre in.

A centre who can't tackle, perfect fit for the Wallabies

To play fly-half. He's outstanding
rugby player. 1st XV at 15/16 y.o.
and Australian schoolboy. He was
going to play for Waratahs before
switching to league. Not saying it's
true but it's what I've been hearing
from some rugby circles recently
with Eddie Jones being appointed
the Wallabies coach. He brought in
Sailor, Tuqiri & Rodgers into the fold.
I think he'll get his man in Sua'ali'i too

‘Won’t tolerate salary cap cheating’: NRL warning after Smith’s manager makes stunning allegation

The NRL has responded after Brandon Smith’s manager last week made the stunning allegation he was “offered a backhander”.

Brandon Smith’s manager last week made the stunning allegation that at least one NRL team offered the Roosters star an illegal payment outside the salary cap during negotiations last year.
Now ARLC Chairman Peter V’landys has responded to the “serious allegation” and sent a warning to all 17 clubs in the competition.

It comes after Stan Martin, Smith’s manager, told News Corp last week that one club “offered me a backhander”.

“No brown paper bags,” Martin said. “Everything we do must be above board.

“But I had no interest in anything dodgy like that,” he added, also stressing that the Roosters had operated entirely within NRL salary cap rules in successfully signing Smith.

Martin did not name the team, although speaking to The Daily Telegraph, V’landys called on him to substantiate the claims while adding the NRL won’t “tolerate salary cap cheating”, should it be proven.

“If Brandon Smith’s manager has some information, I encourage him to make that information available to the NRL integrity unit,” V’landys said.

“It’s a serious allegation. If he has evidence of some club trying to cheat the system, he should immediately hand it to the integrity unit for them to investigate.

“If he can provide some evidence, we will certainly be taking action, no fear or favour.”

Have to ask, what has made Martin make this allegation? Did a club go direct to the player?
