Tomkins will want a lot of dough to come out here and I can't see us having enough dough spare to make a serious bid

Reckon the Bunnies will be the ones to snare him if he comes out

But he would be a handy acquisition to our club if by some miracle he ended up at the Tigers

And Josh Dugan wouldnt want a lot of dough?
You pay peanuts you get monkeys.
Sam Tonkins would be a sensational buy for Wests if they could pull it off.I seen glimpses of a young Bretty Hodgson, and boy he has some pace to burn.

Quarter chicken ,chips when did I or have I ever brought up Josh Dugan ??

I am prepared to wait for the future and the future is James Tedesco

I never mentioned you and Josh Dugan, but any top class player will want a lot of dough.i was using Dugan as an example, but most in here seem to think we will attract top players and not have to pay them top dollar .Tedesco is 18 or so .dont hold your breathe waiting for him to become the next big thing , he has plenty to learn before he gets a first grade crack.

Tomkins is a million times the player Hodgson is/was, infact he will eventually go down as one of the best players England have produced if he stays in RL. English RU have already signed his brother and they are prepared to make Sam the highest paid player in history.
He is a freak.

The talent no doubt is there, but Ive yet to see in Tomkins the heart & guts Hodgo regularly displayed….it will take a super player to replicate that

The Eclipse probably hasn't seen the Hodgson pre knee injury and in his prime Ink

But to give you the drum Eclipse Hodgo played Origin and before the knee injury had electric speed of the mark and played like Gareth Ellis in a 70 odd Kg body One of the gutsier footy players I have seen (And a great bloke to boot)

never a truer word about a legend .and didnt Hodgo win the man of steel acouple of times whilst in the ESL

Wigan sign Tomkins to long-term deal

Wigan Warriors confirm that England International fullback Sam Tomkins has reiterated his commitment to Rugby League and the Wigan Club by agreeing a new improved five-year contract.

The new deal will cover Seasons 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 and includes an assurance that the player will not speak to either Rugby Union nor the NRL during a three year defined period of the term.

Speaking about the news Wigan Owner and Chairman Ian Lenagan said:

"We are thrilled that we have reached an agreement with Sam for his long term future. The new contract will rightly make Sam one of the highest paid players in the Club's History in recognition of his outstanding talents which he has demonstrated at both Club and International level.

"It shows the strength of the sport and the Wigan Club that we are able to invest in such an exceptional player within the Salary Cap. I am fully aware of Rugby Union's interest in Sam, however it gives me great pride that we are able to retain and reward one of the Sports brightest talents. I am also confident that for the right person we are able to offer a more attractive package than any other Club in either code."

Sam Tomkins added:

"I am delighted to have agreed this new contract with the Wigan Club and that my long term future is assured. Playing for Wigan means everything to me having come through the Academy and Reserve Grades. Being a part of the Grand Final success last year and Challenge Cup victory this season are the highlights of my career so far. I am extremely excited with what the future holds under new Head Coach Shaun Wane and am looking forward to what the next five years will bring both for me as a player and for the Wigan Club."
