Same old tigers

We have no polish. Luai’s injury hurts, but if he’s gonna play like he did tonight, is he really a loss?
I expect Doueihi to be out.
Bring in Madden to show them how to kick long-low-deep-or grubbers. And organise the backline to stand deep when attacking in the red zone. They don't seem to have a competent manager in the middle. Luai will not get deep. Thinks he can dance his way through.
They had no idea how to attack and had ample opportunities.
No idea for the 5/8 if Luai is out. Exciting week for the Forum.
Should be a good test for Benji and the selection committee next Tuesday!

Madden and Api unless Latu plays his first game of the season.

Maybe he’s just not that good? If you separate all fullbacks in the comp into tier’s, he’s gotta be at best, in the third tier.

First - Walsh, Edwards, Tedesco,
Second - Hammer, Sua, Turbo, Ponga,
Third - Gutho, Iongi, Bula, Kennedy, Gray, CNK, Weakes
I think kini and brimson are better than half the third tier aswell gutho is past it and j don’t really rate cnk and Bula is really out of form

To be fair both wingers are our second choice wingers and didn’t do THAT bad in those circumstances

I don’t think we can continue with them though. Problem is we have no one who can play centre. We have Heath Mason playing there in reserve grade

Tavana needs to be called up to the wing, Maka back to the other wing

Turuva centre, idk who else plays in the other centre position. We are stuck

I hope the Xerri downplay in the media was fibs and he is here by Tuesday next week

Please tell benji to sake skelton he is not first grade material he cost us two try's witch would have won us the game.
Fair argument that Skelton was at fault for the Johnston try. But he was in a tough spot. If he didn't body Mitchell then Mitchell beats him to the ball. But the fact he did body Mitchell he wasn't in position to contact the ball. Ideally he would do both but sometimes a grubber is just perfectly placed and too good to stop.
Can't blame him for the Mitchell try at all. It was a miskick that dropped favouring Johnston. Where was the cover getting behind the ball? The lack of effort from Turuva, Doueihi and KPP was pathetic and is what cost that try.

We will go nowhere with sideways halves. The odd great win will keep presenting enough for Benji to think it will just take time, but when the opposition are really up for the game defensively like Souths were,we lose 99% of the time.

It would be very interesting to see how our attack looks with Madden at 7 and Latu at 6 if both the starters are out injured for a while. Two completely different style of players that base their game around opening up space for others.

Im telling you now, we are shot if AD stays at 7. He is a very good footballer, and he will have games like last week. But as soon as the defence is good, we will continue to run around like headless chooks.

No one wants to lose any game.
Looked at a replay this morning, and IMO we are NOT a version of our older selfs.
Last night, 2 missed tackles put us behind after 10 minutes but we did not crumble.
And the 2nd half again showed a team that did not give up.
We were in it for 80, and frustratingly, could have won.
I'm not sure our young players out there knew how good they were.

It’s frustrating because we see the potential of AD and Luai , but it’s once a month at best, and then too many games where they do nothing in attack …no excuses either because they had plenty of ball and the forwards went well,,,16 points just doesn’t cut it

Madden is on a hiding to nothing next week ,,.tough away trip up against the hottest team in the comp whose forwards are likely to dominate … also don’t bring Latu back for this one first up…let him have a crack at NSW Cup..

I don’t mind seeing how Latu and Madden go the following game which I believe is against Parra though

Agree on some of this
Didn’t crumble - get flogged
Look fitter - good off season
Missed Tackles - Luai and Macca - Skelton ( cost us the game )
Didn’t give up - agree - but we went straight back to last years in the last 25 minutes , red zone attack and we were going in circles , looked lost again , no idea , poor decisions , all from last years book , we are short an attacking weapon .
Our team yesterday would be stronger with both Skelton out and. Bulla out , Macca just holds his spot as I think moving him back to reserves isn’t the answer , left wing for him for a while , Bulla just is not playing like a million dollar player , he needs to lift and these next few weeks where AD and Luai are out is when he needs to show us his worth cuase right now $ 450 k tops and I would probably chase Tracy instead

Said that last year.... No way tannah Boyd should be playing better then the million dollar man, Luai had his best game last week but million dollar players do it every week. He isn't there. Very disappointing our half's and backs. Turuva tries his best buy his a winger not a centre. We are desperately missing may in the centres. Bula see ya later not worth 800k or anywhere near it.
It doesn't help that we started the game with 4 wingers and no centres. Not sure if all those starters are even first grade wingers either.

I agree. AD is never the answer for me. Last year he was needed to fill that role. I know it was only trials but Madden was able to do everything AD does and more. The only advantage AD has is a bigger body.

I hope Benji does put Madden at half. He found the grass constantly in the trials, kicks goals and goes straight and deep into the line creating the exact space you are talking about. Our attacking shape in the 20m zone looked far better than anything we have seen in the two rounds of the comp so far.

It doesn’t help, no….but that’s all we got at the moment apparently…so unless something changes like they sign someone or Toa heals up quick,,,they are going to have to find a way…season could slip away real quick otherwise

I knew this debate would rage as soon as we had a poor result. Madden to HB and if he’s playing well, AD is a fine bench utility.
