Same sex marriage debate...

Look at the discrimination Milo Yiannopolous is copping in Australia.
Tolerant society? Everyone is entitled to an opinion? I think not.

Everyone IS entitled to an opinion. Other people are just as entitled and allowed to yell about it in the street.

This is a really interesting point. Protestors are cool so long as they remain in control and follow the laws of society.

The alt-right seem to think it's only okay for them to have free speech.

So all you see here Earl, is that the "alt-right" seem to think THEY are the only ones entitled to free speech, and that protesters that remain in control/obey the law are OK.
Not much use in talking about protesters that remain in control, when this discussion was about the Milo.Y protesters . . . . . that didn't look too law abiding. Or hygienic. Or employed. Or contributing to society. Or tolerant. Or believing in free speech. _But at least you wont call them morons_.
It's a moot point if the alt-right think they are the only ones entitled to free speech, coz the uber-left protesters decided that this bloke isn't entitled to free speech . . . and the violence and disgusting protest ensued.
The absolute funniest part in all of this is that this Milo bloke apparently not only married a MAN . . . he married a BLACK one. The only way he could have gotten more leftist minority group points, is if he had a sex change and married a black lesbian in a wheelchair. A fat one.
Once again, the tolerant left is happy to show tolerance to others, as long as they agree with what the left prescribes.
You guys are a scream.

I find it interesting that the alt-right basically think they are hard done by but they want groups of people who disagree with them to have their rights limited.

I hope you can see how childish their arguments are. They have the rights to act like morons and they do it really really well. They complain about nothing. Then they go ahead and state they want other people's rights curtailed. Funny stuff.

I struggle to work out why Milo gets a 50k bill because a bunch of violent ferals diametrically opposed to his views need to be managed by police.
Either the protest organisers should foot the bill, or when police are needed, they should just arrest everyone that does not follow a reasonable direction and go home

If a gay paramedic refuses to resuscitate someone whose a staunch opponent to gay marriage there would be outrage.

It's been officially passed through parliament "we yes voters" don't need to resort to over the top scenarios. It's a simple comparison.

Simple being the operative word.

Congratulations to the Lower house who have officially legalised SSM

Also a big contratulations to the public. If there wasn't such a strong push, there would never have been a plebiscite, and it would not have come this far.

It shouldn't have taken $120 million bucks

It was simple , people deserve equal rights no matter what

51 years since the Indigeneous have the right to vote , the gay /lesbian community have the right to marry

We aren't real quick on the upbeat sometimes , kind of embarrassing really

Well I wouldn't be so quick to slap ourselves on the back. As an indigenous Australian, it is possible in this day and age to walk into a coffee ship first and be the last one served.

Well said Happy. I agree with you but there were a lot of people that were against it even today and that is why they spent the money on a vote. It was a waste of money but can you imagine the whining from the people that still believe that gay people somehow don't deserve equal rights within society.

Yes unfortunately there are still many people who carry prejudices for the most minor reason. At times i despair about my fellow human race but very slowly things are improving.

No need to despair.
Stop worrying so much how other people think or live.
People spend far too much time tsk tsking each other.
The survey and the law passed because majority thought it was fair.
That should be the end of the argument but I think we all know it wont be. People are gloating whilst others seethe and around it goes….

Same sex marriage advocates should front a Muslim Bakery and ask them to bake a cake for them. When they say "no", as they will, take them to court. Now that I would really like to see.

Ever been to a same sex wedding Col??.

Apart from his own when he got drunk in Vegas I'll go out on a long limb and say no

Aaarrhh, that explains a lot
