This whole argument on value continues to boil down to potential and what you pay for it. Even if he was the finished product right now, is he better than a Hudson Young style backrower and what is he going to attract? Unsure it’ll be $1.2M a year. Might be different on the new cap but right now I’d doubt it.
The long suffering clubs, like ours, always get caught up paying on potential as we’ve got no other option.
If the Benji love, coupled with the brotherly love don’t get it done, then we need to question the whole Benji / sibling strategy we’re running with as we shouldn’t need to offer all three of Benji, siblings and over the top $.

All depends on whether ratchet clause is included in his base deal...if for example Sam wants to start at $1.2 and include 67% ratchet by 2030.. ...makes him $2mill in 2030

No I find it hard to believe too. For one, he hasn't even played rep football or dominated multiple games in succession. For two, Tartak doesn't usually play contract $$$ out in the media.
Maybe the false leak of $1.2M is from another party trying to create discontent (i.e. Chammas, another club, another agent).

Unfortunately with PNG money and the new TV Deal, plus Wests Tigers mediocrity levy, that’s probably where we’re at.
In 2016 I was fairly confident Teddy replaces Slater in the Kangaroos eventually. I’ve got Samuela reaching that stage also.

It seems to have become a “ magic” number. He’s definitely not worth that but with all these offers floating around he may get it - I just pray that it’s not from us.
This whole player movement scenario is getting more crazy by the day.
Very easy to forget that Luciano was our strike back rower not so long ago. Be careful what you wish for if we let Samuela leave.

I don’t want him to leave EF but I want us to make a realistic offer, not a “sign at any cost” one.
Remember he’s got a couple of brothers as well who have to be taken into consideration.
